When you finally move out of Arizona…

The Utah Hockey Club suffered its first loss in franchise history on October 14, 2024, with a 3-0 defeat to the New Jersey Devils. Despite their strong 3-0 start to the season, Utah’s offense was shut down by Devils goaltender Jake Allen, who made 20 saves. Goals from Seamus Casey, Stefan Noesen, and Nico Hischier sealed the victory for New Jersey, handing Utah their first taste of defeat.

  1. No way are the Coyotes making it far. Just because they played teams that are their own brand of awful doesn’t mean shit at crunch time.

  2. If the devils got called for bs Goalie interference might have been a different game but as a Ranger fan I’m glad they got the loss even if it was to the Devils

  3. Ah yes, another video of the salty Rags fan trying his hardest to not pay Jersey a single complement

  4. Eck you talked more about the rangers than the devils for a game that the devils won. If you’re gonna cover a devils game at least give them credit and don’t talk about a game our little brothers lost

  5. I think it fucking figures they start playing well as soon as they leave Phoenix. I was here when the Coyotes came to AZ. I remember when they shared an arena with the Suns. Hope they manage to keep it together, great to see the team doing well so far.

  6. It’s hard to win a game when you only have 20 SOG and the other team has 33.

The MammothYetiOutlaws from Utah were tired and it showed.

  7. Not that everything he says is bound to come true, but The Hockey Guy said that if Utah can win their home opener plus two of their three on the road up in New York, they probably have a good season ahead of them. Of course they’re not going to win every game, but I’ve been pretty impressed at what they’ve turned out. Hopefully the energy can remain as they enjoy their new home

  8. I live in Arizona, and I would strongly encourage the Devils to move from New Jersey to Arizona. Seems like being in Arizona vs. being in New Jersey is an easy decision to make. The State Trust land where the arena was proposed this spring would be greater for development of the arena, and it is less than a mile from where I live.

Also, in their history the Devils have moved two previous times. They were originally the Kansas City Scouts for two seasons, then become the Colorado Rockies for six seasons (a name later adopted by the baseball team). The New York City metropolitan area has two other NHL teams. Despite being over 2,000 miles away from New Jersey, it is common to see New Jersey license plates on metro Phoenix area roads.

  9. Calling Utah a city is all I need to know when you try to bag on Arizona with the title 🚮

  10. As a Phoenix coyotes fan then an Arizona coyotes fan, it was never the fans that were the problem. It was the terrible manager who made bad decision after bad decision then decided he didn’t want to put any effort in

  11. Utah seems like a solid passing team that are all quick as hell but if you pressure them to pass they don’t last long

  12. Not to be that guy but Utah is a state, not a city. The UHC plays in Salt Lake City, the capital and biggest city in Utah

  13. How desperate and miserable are Devils fans? They need to whine and beg for attention everywhere they go. A severe inferiority complex that has infected their young team. You are literally propelling fans across the league to hate on guys like Jack and Nico only because they hate you for being so goddam annoying. Quit worrying about everyone else and enjoy your club. Get out of the garbage that is the Dirty Jerz!

  14. Let's not forget this team was BUILT in AZ. The move was not a result of a lack of fans for the team but rather a result of poor contract negotiations with the city of Glendale and the voter response in Tempe which is a college town mixed with retirement communities. Enjoy your team Utah! I supported this team since 1996 through thick and thin.

  15. lol. This should be titled, "When you finally pay attention to a team for arbitrary reasons."

  16. As a Dallas fan, I’m worried about how good Utah is, our division is a bloodbath

Colorado, Bedard, Utah, Nashville with Stamkos, Winnipeg, lord help us

  17. 4 games is a pretty small sample size.
Teams scout and adjust, injuries happen.
It will be interesting to see how they do

  18. What a tragic loss. 🙁 Hopefully, this is the bottom, and they will never have to experience this feeling ever again.

  19. This team has been a blast to watch. Would've been nice to get the Tri-state road trip sweep, but 3-1-0 isn't a bad start at all.

  20. You gotta feel bad for Arizona fans. They stuck with them and knew it was about to pay off and then they lose their team. Also if it weren’t for all the drama last year, I think the yotes would’ve done better.

  21. As a Utah fan, I am shattered, my world is ending, and I am quitting hockey forever.

Jk I’ve been a Jazz fan my whole life so I’ve become accustomed to losing.

  22. utah showing how speed means winning is exactly why everyone needs to be terrified of the avs this season because for the first time since the cup they WILL be healthy.
