The Dallas Stars held on a 4-3 victory over the new look Nashville Predators on Opening night. Joey dissects all the action from the Stars first game of the 2024-25 season. We begin the episode with the biggest takeaway from game one including Jake Oettinger who made 33 saves in the win. He was great along with some help with the posts late. Also, Logan Stankoven with a dominating performance picking up 3 assists in the game. Next, Joey shares his thoughts on the new comers Ilya Lyubushkin and Matt Dumba. We look at the minutes distribution and how the Stars were undisciplined and sloppy in parts of the game. Preds had way too many quality scoring looks. We got a little lucky but I’ll take the W
I hate how no lead is safe with this team. No matter how many goals we have, we will take our foot off the pedal and just camp out in our zone and let them climb back. Year after year. I’ll be glad when they drop that habit. I HATE it!
Jamie looked out of sorts too at different points during the game. Fumbling pucks, mishandling his touches. Especially on the PP. The PP looked terrible. Just picked up where they left off from last year. I saw no difference on the PP. Terrible entries. Barely any zone time to speak of. Just not characteristic for Jamie. Hope he steadies up his play. Need my boy to get back in tip top shape again. Cmon Jamie! You’re the fn man! Let’s go Stars!
It was hard to watch faceoffs and offensive entry/zone time.
Without otter they lose by a ton…just look at the shot dif…and the time in the o zone

Nils was impressive with his strength honestly, he made a few mistakes early in the game, and I felt horrible for him when he went to the penalty box, you could see it in his face, the thought he was ruining his chances. Miro had a MONSTER game on defense. Robo was looking slow and sloppy. Benn also looked awful. Duchene’s hands looked like he had some cement in his gloves, which was irritating. Marchment is one of my least favorite contracts, and he did a great job shutting me up yesterday.

Is it me or does Harley look off. He hasn’t been good since the 2nd half of last season. Looked bad in the playoffs. He’s a big boy who’s not physical at all. Out of position a lot. It’s game one and lot of players seam to not have their legs. Buy game 10 we’ll hav r better idea. Go Stars
