Boston Bruins Game 5 Recap | Pastrnak is on Fire

The Boston Bruins beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-3 in their first game on their western road trip. The Bruins got goals from Koepke, Coyle, Pastrnak, Lindholm, and Beecher. Korpisalo played great early on and kept them in the game.

The powerplay came alive, but Poitras seemed to be benched in the third period, and there is no explanation for it yet.

  1. It doesn’t do much for me because I’m a nerd and watch all the interviews but I think your inclusion of the interview clips and then reaction on top of it does a great job to paint the whole picture for people who don’t watch them. Very nice work

  2. The hero’s line? Idk it’s tough to give them a line name! Fight score skate! they don’t just do one good thing. Doers line/ 😂😂😂

  3. Strange coaching decision IMO. Why just bump Fredrick up to 2nd line and make Poitras play with 2 guys who been warming the bench? Jones was invisible and Tufte sat in penalty box longer than he played. Fredrick did nothing for that second line. He's not a top 6 player. To be honest, neither is Coyle. Coyle, Fredrick, Geekie..monster 3rd line. Poitras, Brazeau and Marchand could be a decent 2nd line. Could play around with the chemistry on those top 2 lines as well. There was a time when Marchand and Pastrnak were 2/3 of the best line in hockey. Mind you the turnovers on that line would be atrocious the way those 2 turn the puck over now LOL

  4. Pastrnak shades of Bobby on that goal. 😍

I always wait for the official highlights to be uploaded. Then I watch that, followed by your expert analysis. Keep doing what you're doing, brother.

  5. Swayman's play out of the gate doesn't exactly have me brimming with confidence, and he obviously is playing catch up, but remember when there were rumors of the B's trading him to the Av's for Georgiev and others? Oof, it makes me shutter to think…Korpisalo and Georgiev, but it would be sure fire way to move up in the draft I suppose.

  6. I think the guys on the fourth line were the best again. Coyle stepped it up a bit. I’m surprised Pasta has the three goals because I think he’s been playing crappy.

  7. Monte needs to go. From screwing up our playoffs 2 years ago, to how bad he’s treated our better young guys like Lorelei and Poitras to not putting Lysell and Merk in any possible position to succeed. Yet he is tolerant with untalented players like Geeke. Get rid of him.

  8. Quickly becoming my new favourite spot for a quick breakdown of the latest news and bruins games.
I’m not even shocked really when I first saw this channel it was so good I didn’t trust it 😂 “I’m sure it’s a fluke”
You got a great system bud and i really appreciate it so far.

  9. This felt like a "real" Bruins team the first time this season.

Getting a little concerned about Pasta trying to do things himself – he did that the season before and created a lot of turnovers. He's going to get hurt playing Superman out there. It's only October. But, if Pasta wants to beat auston matthews? His game starts in August!

I'm looking at Lohrei's game – he's going to be a difference maker once he clicks.

Hoping that OT goal the other game boosted his confidence, let his vision come out like it did this game for that coyle goal.

I think that is the 'real' Mason Lorhei based on the highlights I've seen.

Don't know Jones' and Tufte's potential ceilings enough to say anything.
We know one of them has to go to make way for Tyler Johnston…

I will say, when we scratch our heads wondering why Monty or any coach is playing a particular player? I believe they're trying to assess their "assets" worth. They need plus-minus ratings, NHL ice time to have any value on the trade block.

I was one of many questioning why Bruce Cassidy did not play prospects enough. He was not the only one at fault, yet that contributed to keeping our trade cupboards bare

It got glaringly obvious at one point – especially when Freddy went after Alex ovechkin, he was benched and sent back down to the ahl. I did not like that move humiliating a young player in front of the hockey world.. can't coach nor train that type of grit.

of course the coaches and franchise have to keep talking up their own players. They can't agree with your assessment of their worst players. They're going to stay silent. But they know you're correct!

Another factor, the franchise has to think about balancing out each team, what players they steal from the AHL and which ones they send down that will be the most value to either team.

Somebody's got to start taking down Hershey Bears and Coachella.

Bruins have 2 days between their next road game, and then another two days off after Utah, before taking on Nashville.

Plenty of time to build off their Colorado game.

This is where I'm anxious to start seeing progress. Monty's got something to work with, they're on the road, tight team. Hoping this is where they turn the corner for this season.

    Great assessment -good stuff.
    Thank you!

    Go Bears! 🐻

  10. i think monty would have sat poitras because he is just such a huge defensive liability at this point in his development. he tries to hold the puck when he is near teammates and extend his own possession, but it backfires. the nearby teammate is no help and he is frozen out of position by poitras. he just doesn't yet have positional awareness and the smarts to use space and teammates as decoys. he gets stripped of the puck easily while in very bad locations. he is a promising offensive player, but he is a train wreck on his own half of center ice.

  11. Zacha-lindholm-pasta
    Marchy-coyle-Freddy
    Geekie-poitras-brazzeau
Koepke-Beecher-Kastelic should be the lines brazzeau and poitras together could be something close to Bergeron marchy in our future and Freddy and coyle have been linemates for years and marchy is great at finding open ice

  12. Obviously up to you. But I think adding little snippets of the game into the video would be very helpful especially for people who didn’t catch the game or a more casual fan. Especially when you are talking about the goals in the game and big plays. Love the videos keep it up !

  13. pasta might be the leading goal scorer, but his goals have been more accidents then snipes.
Korpiaslo is showing why he was the worst goalie in the league last season, maybe blame ottawa a little but he is just bad, he is border line NHL back up/ahl starter.
that 4th line is hot! at this point in the season they should be the 1st line lol. JK.
it was great to see coyle get a goal finally.
The defense was not any better then other games. McAvoy is still getting smoked and caught flat footed.
Through the first 8 mins of the game boston had 4 shots to the Avs 1, but that was with boston have a pp. Boston PK was bad! and the penalities omg! they are what 20 out of 26 on the PK.
