The Detroit Red Wings lost to the Rangers again on Thursday, as the same problems from Monday proved costly yet again. Rangers converted three times on their power play, and Detroit only converted one of theirs in garbage time. In the defensive zone they continued to struggle gaining posession and breaking out, leading to many chances again — and Artemi Panarin and Vinny Trocheck made Detroit pay. Mo Seider had a good game though, so thats something I guess. #LGRW

Embarrassing. If we miss the playoffs again, I don't think Lalonde gets a new contract.
No chemistry. Just a bunch of random players thrown together. There all playing as individuals out there it feels. More of the same from the defense. Same as last year. And lalonde….he is no leader. He is a little bitch. Loser mentality. If u remember his interviews last year when we lost 7 in a row. Yzerman is on the hot seat for me.
I don’t think Lalonde has the ability to inspire and motivate. In fact, it’s quite the opposite…when I try to listen to him speak with press, I have to tune him out. His demeanor is flat, boring and lifeless. Which is how the team looks.
Tyler motte getting whiplash from running his head into a Rangers hip then looking for a penalty sums up how atrocious this team is. Speaking of motte, why is a human punching bag that creates nothing, in the lineup instead of Kasper? And why do they continue to put chariot with seider when every time chariot gets the puck in the offensive zone he either throws a shot from the point that gets blocked or misses the net or he skates the puck down low and turns it over? Why does it matter if edvinson plays with seider when your wlenyire team sucks, if your trying to balance the defense and scoring don't bother, chariot sucks, gustafson sucks, maata sucks, holl sucks, speaking of which where is Johannes? He has one good game and then it's thanks but we don't need you anymore. Is this team playing for a top 5 pick? None of these decisions make sense unless you want to tank your season, but at this point what dies it matter. And none of this is going to change anytime soon because you have the wrong ilitch as owner. Just look at how terrible and with the exception of this fluke season how terrible the Tigers have been once the old man kicked the bucket. Detroit has 3 of its four teams: pistons, Tigers, and wings with the worst owners in sports, and so this is what you get fans, enjoy the lions because other than this fluke tiger season these other teams are just a giant disappointment and will be until ownership changes.
Worry? No. But this team is still building… I’m sure Yzerman has tried to do things – he likely couldn’t because more money was being dished out by other teams…. This compounding with the expectations wrongly from last year. A lot of luck in those wins last year – Dcorps (Beyond Seider) needs to be addressed. Let Johansson play and time to sit/demote or trade Chariot, Petry and Holl (Holl can likely do 3rd pair) too much money tied up in those 3 and unstable goalies. Reality is we should have the same expectations as the start of last year…. Still 2-3 years away from playoffs.
You don’t bench Johansson until he earns the bench. Gustafson is terrible. Putting him on PP1 over Seider is criminal. In what universe does Ras slot in at line 2 over Tarasenko? Really poor decisions. Not impressed with Motte or Gustafson at all. If this continues you have to bring up Kasper and slot him in the 2C/3C. Push Compher and Copp down the lineup and Veleno out to the wing. Waive Motte. Hell, bring up Mazur too and waive Fischer. I’d rather struggle with youth than watch this.
If I was Yzerman I’d start talking to Quenneville. I think Newsy might be in over his head.
Why tf is chariot, holl, Gustafsson, and maatta starting over Johansson? Fire this coach
The wings should have sucked for one more year instead of signing Copp, Compher, Chiarot, etc. The way the Wings are playing it looks like they will be a lottery team and we all know how unlucky they are with that.
I’d bring up the kids. If they are going to lose at least let the kids learn from some vets.
The best players should play, period! Kasper showed in the preseason that he his ready to challenge for a top six spot, a slam dunk at a minimum in top 9… Him showing he was the top forward in the preseason and still dont get a spot is just telling how much contracts is valued over actual quality on the ice. Tarasenko has this far showed nothing at all that says he should def be in the top six, maybe a bit to satisfied after getting his 2nd cup… Having a pure "shut down line" when you cant produce is pretty useless, to much hangs on the 1st line this year for goals. Compher is likely best used as a 3rd line center and Copp a 4th line C, but they arnt played to those smaller roles but keeps getting put out there… They have a lot oftast stuff to figuere out with little time to do it… Special trams, goalies, top 9, team defense and so on…
My biggest question is why the heck is Chiarot Line one and Edvinsson is line two? That makes no sense. Chiarot has no upside, is one of the slowest skaters on the team, and is noticeably inferior as a defender to Seider

This team is weak and they need more players that go to the net and not shoot or pass, pass, pass and lose the puck. They need to bring up Kasper and Mazur Atleast. If they can waive a 4.5 mil goalie they can waive some players who are not the future or trade them.
The piss poor defense is even more noticeable against a team like the Rangers, watching their Defensive structure.
Blame Lalonde. The team is crap. No D and goaltending. No elite talent. Team coming out of a rebuild and the 2nd oldest in the league. Overpaid washed up veterans paid too much. Drafting in the 2nd round has been terrible. Prospects the Wings could've taken are now in the NHL. Yeah blame Lalonde. Can't think of anyone else to blame.
I don’t like our make up. We look slower than every other team, we aren’t physical at all, and we have 3 goalies because we don’t have a true number one. I love the Captain but the Lightning we’re NOT built this way. If you watch any other NHL games, it’s clear that we are not built right.

A couple observations. 1 Brian did NOT overreact. 2 at least the game was only on streaming services so most of us didn’t have to watch 3 Games on Bally sports in the Wings app is noted as BSDET. The way the Wings are playing it seems appropriate BS DET RW. Time for a coaching change??

Yep Yezerman ruined this team, absolutely zero defense we will be lucky to be a .500 team this year we took about 10 in the wrong direction. Sad because how close we were last year. Yezerman has to gooooo

Tired of everyone saying it’s still early. Bad habits are bad habits and bad habits die hard. When I see bad play even in pre season I worry. Same shit every season
The forwards are really bad in their defensive end. The D isn't great right now but they need more support than they are getting.
It was a tough watch, no energy together, no goal on the 5-3 🙁

the offense took a hit during free agency but debrincat (3), kane (0), tarasenko (1), raymond (2), veleno (0), motte (0), are all overpaid given their current levels of production.
the defense was supposed to be better this season. not seeing it at this point. lalonde's whipping boy last year, justin holl, has been vindicated as he clearly hasn't been so bad as to demand being healthy scratched for an entire season or being demoted to the ahl.
as for special teams, the power play sucks and the penalty kill is worse.
marco kasper should be in the show. as should nate danielson, carter mazur, and amadeus lombardi on special occasion.
