The Toronto Maple Leafs get their toughest test of the season with the New York Rangers in town and there were some minor updates from practice. Mike DiStefano and David Morassutti start the show by discussing Mats Sundin’s appearance on Spittin Chiclets and the nostalgia reminder he provided about play in Toronto. Dave wrote a story for Sportsnet looking at teams that could be a trade destination for Timothy Liljegren as he and Mike break down the likeliest options. To end the show, Mike and Dave look at some updates from Leafs practice where it looks like Max Pacioretty will be scratched again and the test the Rangers provide the Leafs.

I hate how everyone want liljgren out of team
Too early to even call this a hot start yet. That being said the Berube effect (note the time out chew out) coupled with Trev’s additions on the back end are having a calming effect on the team. While some may refer to it a ‘boring’ hockey… I’ll take stability over dropping leads anyday! Since loosing Leafs Lunch this has become my goto for Leafs feedback. Keep up the good work! The effort is appreciated.
This Sat game will be a real good test
They’re going to find it hard to move Liljgren with that contract. Teams will just wait til they put him on waivers, to scoop him up or if there’s someone wanting a trade will be money in money out, or something like a 3rd rounder at best.
Only way that old feeling in the city comes back is if the Leafs become a cricket team, they dont have hockey or ice where they come from nowadays
Leaf's start has been good, but for me, the Rangers are the 1st real test as to where they're at. After 7 years of patience, time has come for Liljegren to move on. I heard Dallas had scouts at the game vs. the Kings, but other teams will have interest. It's possible that Leafs are waiting to see developments on Hakinpaa before pulling the trigger on a trade.
Isnt putting liljgren on the waiver wire an option atleast? Maybe some team will pick him up. Or at the very worse, he goes down to the minors and we save a bit of cap space
