  1. Howdy🤠👋@Tyson… Matching lines Up is Up to the Coach…Knobs Will Get It Goin'!!! Oilers 💙🧡🤍SHOWED Up The 1st Period and 1/2 2nd Agreed@Tyson.But Now Oilers 💙🧡🤍NEED To Pick It Up ASAP!!! We Have To Re-Group Re-Think Re-Tweak Again…We Do NOT Want To Get To 'Behind' On The Points!!! We Will 💪Survive This 🙏OILERS 🙏Fans!!! Skinner 🏒🥅Let in a Few That Could Have Been Saved!!! A Tie👍 Would Have Been Better Than This Loss!!! Next One🙌 OILERS 💙🧡🤍Will WIN!!!

  2. how about that Skinner in net, he needs to step it up or step aside for a bit, Oilers need a number one goalie not minor leaguer in net.

  3. How about getting some defenseman, would be a good start. Then how about getting some muscle so you stop getting your butt stomped along the boards, and when a few battles.

  4. I agree with the summary! They looked great for much of the game …but yes, gotta steam-roll for 60 mins to get in games and the cup. The Panthers were consistent and strong as a machine

  5. I wouldn't say they took an afternoon nap. They dominated the first 2 periods but couldn't solve Otter. They were ok in the 3rd but Skinner folded like a cheap lawn chair.

  6. I just can't see the Oilers winning a cup with the goalie's they have, they have never shown any consistency at all.If they insist on staying with these guys expect the same results as last year or worse.

  7. The weather is more constant than Skinner. I can't understand majority of the Oilers' support for him as being 'good enough'. 'Good enough' is not gonna bring the cup to Edmonton, ever! They need a better goalie and a goalie trainer. We can't ignore that and constantly out-score it.

  8. McDavid was one of the weakest links again! Nothing he tries succeeds at this point.

  9. For me it is a coaching thing, when you come out in the 3rd period and play nothing, make one mistake after another, positioning mistakes, etc. What the heck did Knob tell the team in the break? Did he address the rugby tackle of Stecher that created the penalty (worst tripping action I've seen in years!). Does anyone train that PK team to have a better positioning to start with? All 4 skewed to the right of the field leaving a 4-lane highway free to score on Skinner? And why does the team fall apart after a 1-0? Can't they take a page from the Flames' book who came back from 4-1 in Vancouver? That is training 'instructions', not 'the team'. What else is the trainer's role if not to manage those 'crisis' situation??? Doesn't matter that they changed the trainer 4 times, it means they didn't find a good trainer yet, one that knows how to 'teach' the team defense, which obviously at this point we do not have, despite Coffey being there. Does Knob need 6 awful games of PK/PP before he starts 'thinking' of adjusting the special teams? So, how is that not 'trainer' issue?

  10. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Dallas Stars. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments and observations at the end.

This was a very tight game until very late in the 2nd when Dallas scored on their one and only PP chance (so our PK failed again). On the plus side the guys didn't take a lot of penalties (just the one tripping by Stecher). On the minus side when down a man they couldn't keep it out of the twine. On the other side of the specialty teams battle Oilers went zero for two on the PP (so PP wasn't working either) but Dallas also had discipline and only took 2 penalties. Oilers shot more, had a lot more giveaways and a LOT fewer blocked shots. They won a LOT more faceoffs but didn't capitalize on the wins so irrelevant.

The Oilers denied Oettinger's bid for his 2nd Shutout this season but Oettinger did great. Stu, well, I'm not totally sure how much of this was a him issue and how much was the rest of the team.

I couldn't watch the game (again). Surgery (physical, not laser) is Monday on both eyes. I'll be out of action for some time. Hope you enjoy these stats and observations. Take care all.
