A message has to be sent and if certain players don't want to or won't buy into the way they need to play to be successful then those players need to be moved, nothing gets the attention of players when they see their pals being traded away, if these guys won't embrace the system then it's time they go, nobody should feel safe because they clearly don't get it.
Luckiest coach in the NHL to still have a job as the head coach of a team that hasn't been to the 2nd round of the playoffs for 6+ years, with the core of players they've had.
