  1. Anderson has been playing strong and I think he needs to be with better line mates . But I honestly don't like our first line. I would split them up over the top two lines . Suggest. Anderson, Dach and Slaf as a line. I would love a big power forward with Caufield and Suz as well.

  2. This is a real young team so there has to be patience as there will be ups and downs in their play but I want to see the coaching staff hold the players more accountable for their effort. There is a big difference in pinching when you shouldn't and busting your butt back and pinching and just gliding back or losing a tough physical puck battle in the offensive zone compared to just moving your stick around trying to deflect an outlet pass. Results vary; effort shouldn't.

  3. What's with you two and Barron? Put him on waivers ans get rid of him. The most irresponsible d man on the team and can't get it through his head !

  4. 24 and 72 have chemistry! Play them and you win. Use 24 with 48 on the PP to score! Goals get you wins. Unload the dead wieght and get a chance for playoffs!

  5. Please PLEASE find a way to get Logan Mailloux in the lineup!!. I've been saying this since the summer. His talent is being wasted in Laval and as much as people like Justin Barron you just have to bite the bullet and part ways with him. If he thrives with another team..good for him. The cream rises to the top faster with some players than others so just let it happen and deal with the aftermath.

  6. Why not give Emil time on the 2nd line while dropping Armia down? These early years are a time to give the youngsters a chance to prove themselves.

  7. I said this at the start of the season. Heineman does not belong on the 4th line. He needs to be on the second line at least. If the 1st line doesn't gel, move him to the first and Slaf to the second.

  8. Swap Armia with Heineman to try and spark some offence, Armia can't seem to find his finish yet. While I commend Mailloux on his goal, he is not significantly better than Barron (if at all right now). If management truly thinks Barron is worse than Mailloux currently, trade Barron. Otherwise, it does no good.
Also, bring Barré-Boulet back up and send Kapanen back to Sweden. Once again there is no significant difference between Kapanen and a player who would replace him so let him get some more ice time in Sweden and hope he earns a spot next year.

  9. the way i see it once demidov gets here next year he ll complete that second line and i m willing to wait before panicking about that 2nd line

  10. Such a waste of time discussing who should be on which line. The current fourth line could be second or third … who cares look at time on ice or matchups , the line number doesn’t matter as much

  11. The Habs being elite thus far on the PK is what you call the law of averages. The "system" wherein they form a tight little box that doesn't challenge the puck holder will catch up with them. In 3-4 months I'd be surprised if they were still in the top 20.

  12. We were expecting to have a 2nd line that would take the pressure of always playing the other team's best lines off of Suzi, Cole and Slaf. I don't think they need to be broken up they need another line to relieve pressure. Hopefully Laine come s back and we can find a good fit for the RW slot on that line. Great show guys! GO HBS GO! 🏒

  13. Heineman might be the most pleasant surprises this year. He's tough and he has a great shot. Give him a chance.

  14. One game doesn’t give Mailloux a roster spot. Cmon lol! Yes he scored but also looks lost sometimes in the defensive zone.

  15. If anything, Savard might benefit from a game or two in the press box while you wait for one of the studs to play poorly enough to send down / lose their roster spot like Xhekaj did

  16. Mailloux will go down, just to accelerate his development – he lost a ton of critical development with legal issue and COVID as a double whammy. He is ok, but needs more development to really drive the impact he should have with Habs. Re 2nd line, Dach needs more game time to get back where he belongs.

  17. Suzuki looks tired out there, possibly playing hurt?
Savard and Matheson will not make it to the end of the year…to many coming up.
Demidov will play with the Habs later this year.

  18. The bottom 6 is playing well I wouldnt touch it. I would switch caufield and newhook because Dach needs a player that can play possession and has a scoring touch which is exactly what Caufield brings. Newhook and Dach dont see the game the same way, newhook is a very direct player. And Suzuki is a player that can adapt his game to any type of winger. Plus Suzuki has the speed to keep up with Newhook.

    Heineman-dach-slaf
    Newy-evans-gally
    Andy-dvo-mario

I would just give this a shot

  20. why does dach get such a long leash, newhook has clearly outplayed him…if anyone should be demoted its dach, not newhook. hard work shouldnt be punished.

  21. Barron out. Trade him, waive him, whatever. Mailloux moves up to play with Matheson, Guhle with Hutson, Struble sits. Xhekaj and Savard on the 3rd pairing

Or Savard with Matheson and Mailloux with Xhekaj since they had some great chemistry in Laval last year.

As far as the forwards go.

Line one remains intact. Anyone complaining about their production, needs their eyeglass prescription checked. 7pts for Caufield, 6pts for Slaf, 5pts for Suzi. in 5 games, nothing to complain about. Leave them as is.

Heineman and Kapenen move up to line 2 with Dach.

Newhook moves down to line 3 with Evans and Gally

Anderson down to line 4 with Dvorak and Armia

  22. Dach should not be center and neither Armia nor Newhook are hustling enough. Bring Gallagher up and put Dvorak at center

  23. Gallagher looks faster then he has been in years, Caufield has also taken a jump in his speed.

2nd line of newhook – dach – Heineman
