To preface my comment, I'm a Rangers fan, so this game was unbelievably painful for me to watch…
However: This kid is the real deal. It just brings a grin to my face to see such a young kid break onto the NHL scene like this, showing so much potential, and such absolutely enthusiasm for the game–not to mention such courage, being willing to give interviews when he's still adapting to the new culture. Hell, I know probably a similar amount of Spanish and I'd never be so comfortable with that.
Kdybych měl uvažovat jako ty, tak bych podle tvého komentéře soudil, že všichni slováci jsou dementi..lol..naštěstí znám plno super lidí ze Svk. Ty mezi ně určitě nepatříš
I'm a czech high school student so I have such an idea about english education here and about students who study that. The education is usually quality and sufficient but of course, not everyone is talented. I suppose that Tomáš isn't one of the best ones. Lots of people have problems mostly with conversation just like Tomáš. But you can see, he understands the points and answers. And you can be sure, it will be only better with his english 🙂
You always want to be the best you can be. That he is one of the best skilled players in the league. I still don't understand how 16 other teams looked passed him. His english will be better in time.
Hellooo… who cares about his english? it is us-can league so if the interview is in French most of us would be lost… who dares to say comments like "what is he saying, being not able to order burgers etc…" I'm from czech too, I started on same level of english as he is, it's not funny at all… but he's got the balls to stay his ground…. come on Tomas!!!
Hey buddy, I have discovered a site where you can find a good amount of details about sports. It includes all the details linked to most of the kinds of sports. Just go to Google and type: "PlayGuide4U" to discover the magic.

Super! Konečně se Češi prosazují po dlouhé době 🙂
nice, modest guy.
Jagr's been in the US for 20+ years and he's still got a thick Czech accent. Tomas is probably no different.
Nobody should be insulting his accent. The only reason he came the the states/canada is to play hockey, he's trying his best to learn our language
his english has gotten much better since the beginning, the kid learned fast
Media: "Hertl doesn't know good English" "Let's ask him hard questions!" "GREAT IDEA!!!"
His English is a lot better I'm so proud of my sweet Czech boi
