With the long standing stat regarding Stanley Cup winning teams and not having any $10M+ players, Luca and Thomas dive deep into who the next 8 players that could reach that threshold on their next contracts will be.
I love Johnston is getting the love but he's not a $10m AAV right now. He will sign a 3 year bridge deal and when he's 24 years old, he'll get that massive contract. Dallas is handicapped by Benn and Seguin's contracts still. Once those are both off the books, Wyatt will get paid.
Nothing really changes with cap increases, other than older long term deals being slight bargains for a few years. Every team competing will still spend up to it, every player will demand more, which means nothing really changes 🤷🏼♂️
Video idea? What last name is statistically the best? There are a lot of similar/duplicate last names in the nhl and it would be cool to see which last name has the most points or something like that
you could easily talk about teams with pending RFAs and UFAs that are in cap trouble, the Rangers with Laf, Smith, Miller, Cuylle, Lindgren, Kakko, and obv Shesty who are all on their last years of their deals that NEED a new contract, Toronto, with basically their entire roster, Colorado, who def is a cap nightmare, as well as Edmonton/Dallas who are in a similar spot where they have these young and or established players like New York and Toronto who need those contacts. Teams are in a desperate war with agents, gms, and players on contracts because the NHL Cap is growing but at a really slow pace while everyone keeps getting better and better so it's harder and harder to get team friendly deals done
So considering Mcdavid's making 15 once his deal's up almost certaintly do u guys think we'll get to a point where a NHLer is making 20 Million and if so who? If not why not?
the million numbers are fun, but I’d me much more interested in a conversation about cap percentage and roster constructions that way. Which teams have highest cap percentages in forward, defense, first line, top 5 players etc, I think that tells a more interesting and comprehensive story
I think Jason Robertson 10+ is still up in the air. If he doesn't get 40+ goals and/or 100+ points again before negotiation I don't think he gets $10 mil. 29 goals and 80 points last year is a way bigger step back than people are talking about
With how he's been playing Ottawa got a deal with Sanderson at 8 million, because otherwise he'd be the next 10 million player. But, right now my money is on Shesterkin as someone will sign him to that asking price, if it is New York, or another team.

Dobson's a better D than Bouchard.
Noah Dobson likely won’t get above 8m with how his defense has been… probably closer to a 7×7 7×8 at this point
Make a starting lineup using players NOT on each of your top 25.
Wait did he say "Stan the cup" 😂😂😂😂 brilliant. Stan Le Cup.

Thomas makes a great host. He's 100% right that the Habs will win 7 cups.
the only team with a player over 10 with a chance is nyr and their only chance is this year
mcdavid 7×16 to the anaheim ducks
Just the lost of the 10 mil club proves why the leafs won’t win a cup for a very long time (as a leafs fan)
Igor wants TF out of New York. Mark my words.
Hey Luca, thoughts on the Avs terrible start?
Bedard 9.898

So glad corwin is no longer on bar down 🙂
why wouldn’t you just do 10
I think a tier list ranking first overall draft picks would be fun!
The Wild subreddit had a discussion about this recently and decided we're paying Kaprizov 12 or 12.5 and we aren't letting him talk to the Blackhawks
The Maple Leafs
I'm kidding, it'll probably be the Blackhawks

Just wait until bedard takes the 9.8 mil a year contract to be like Crosby
Summary: next 10 mill predictions
Igor Shesterkin
Mikko Rantanen
Evan Bouchard
Quinn Hughes
Cale Makar
Jason Robertson
Connor Bedard
Kirill Kaprizov
Huberdeau currently the worst followed by Karlsson

How much do you think Bedards idolizations of Crosby impacts his contract? Does he take way less than we expect?
With Draisaitls contract it forces the Oilers to choose between extending McDavid or extending Bouchard but not both
Can you do a video discussing the best fighters of all time in the nhl.
New challenge: buzz Lucas hair
Wyatt Johnson is a bottom 6 player he’s maybe worth 2 mil a year and that’s being kind

Dylan Guenther steal
I would like to know, why the Leafs are just not a great team
Kucherov going to Nashville.
Luca do u have some greys coming in on that flow?
