  1. Again, another mystery decision by Torts. Cates came up thru juniors & the AHL as a winger. Not a great one, but a coachable one. But for some insane reason Torts insists on playing him at center. Cates has quietly shown 'better than average' skill there as far as his defensive & penalty kill play goes, but his offensive scoring touch has virtually become invisible. He's become relegated to 3rd or 4th line minimal playing time or being a healthy scratch. I don't get it. Now it may appear Torts is doing the exact opposite thing with Couts.

  2. Tippet-Frost-TK – Power line
Michkov-Coots-Farabee – Coots assist points line
Foerster-Luchanko-Poehling – speed line if Foerster can keep up
    Hathaway-Cates-Brink

    York-Drysdale – pairs perfect with 1st line
    Seeler-Sanheim – pairs perfect with 2nd line
    Zamula-Risto

This is the lineup that will actually have chemistry

  3. I think he will be traded. Rumors are out there that Calgary needs depth at 3rd / 4th line center & have inquired about Cates or Laughton.
