  1. I thought dylan cozens was better this game, got kulich a few good chances and helped on that end of the game goal, almost scored himself. That being said I do not like him and quinn together. I know its weird but I would like a line with him kulich and greenway maybe? Make that line a bit more physically daunting

  2. I'm going to say, I don't think the Sabres have an internal cap. I think the Sabres have a winning problem and a problem that is created from the Sabres not having made the playoffs in 13+ years. Franchises like the Florida Panthers were running into this exact issue back when they were in their playoff drought. It's going to be a situation that fixes itself when the Sabres actually start winning to being able to attract talent easier to the franchise. It's largely the biggest reason why no one wants to play for Buffalo and come here unless we are offering a handsome salary.

We can also look at things like the Skinner buyout and the Mittlestadt trade in different aspects here too. Specifically how Mittlestadt was on a bridge deal and was likely going to cost the Sabres more to sign him again then they would've been able to afford since at the time, Jack Quinn and JJ Peterka were rising stars on the team. The team also needed a true LHD for Dahlin as while Dahlin is known to play both sides, and is a left shot, he much rather prefers the right and scouts state he is better on the right.

Skinner buyout however, look at the past season and tell me. When Skinner wasn't scoring, what was he adding to the team? During the second half of the season in January, what did he add to the team when he scored a total of 9 goals from January-April. 3 of them being in one game. Skinner became a liability for the team last year, hence his buyout. It wasn't about the money, it was about how the Sabres needed to get out of the contract with Skinner.

Kevyn receiving the promotion will likely be due to the fact that quite frankly, when he took over the franchise in 2019 we lacked a lot of things due to how prior GMs had handled themselves, specifically with our pipeline. We couldn't rely on Rochester to send people in to improve because the farm team sucked. As a result, when players were getting injured, we were sending players who weren't NHL ready/NHL capable into the lineup. We had no depth on the team, which lead to high highs when players were healthy, and really low lows when the players were injured. Kevyn was the first GM out of all to actually put some effort into the lineup and as a result players from Rochester can be relied to step up and into roles on the team.

I think there are other issues within the organization, but I don't think an internal cap is one of them.

  3. Letting Cozens off the hook. His defense isn’t good, so if he’s focusing on it at the expense of offense, that’s even worse. It’s like Dahlin last year

What about playing defense causes someone not to skate fast anymore?
