The Flyers Are Making Some Confusing Moves | South Philly Sauce

#nhl #flyers #jettluchanko
Ashlyn Sullivan and Al Morganti recap what was a disappointing home opener, on the back of a pretty disappointing road trip. However, with some returning players is there a silver lining in this early season start for for the Flyers? They also discuss their confusion on a new position for Coots and…no position for Luchanko?

  1. The Flyers are a disaster. They have ONE player who could be on a competitive team and not be on the fourth line or third defense pairing.

The next competitive Flyers team MAY have 3 or 4 of these guys on it, if that. Hell, it could take so long that none of them are on it.

This propaganda that Briere and Jones are any better than the last management team(s) needs to stop. They knew they would lose Hart and failed to trade him. They lost Gauthier. They'll probably lose Kolosov. They've made stupid trades and stupid moves not to trade guys (like Laughton). And they sign crappy or washed-up guys to big-money (or at least medium money, which is overpaying) contracts.

And nobody on this team wants to play for Tortorella, so what's the point in having him there.

Perspective: They took a really bad hockey team and replaced Atkinson, Hart, and Walker with Michkov, Fedotov, and Erik Johnson. Michkov is good, but this is an absolute mess with little hope.

  2. It's like cleaning out a garage and just moving things around without throwing anything out.

  3. Same team same crap. It starts with the HC Jesus already. Also the fact they paid TK shows they have no clue still what there doing. Stop handing out contracts

  4. In my teens, I remember the back to back years we won the Stanley Cup. Most of the games were on a service called Prism, which eventually became Comcast’s. And I lived outside of Lancaster. Each night during the playoffs, I would take my mom’s radio, climb into the attic wrapped in blankets, and sit on the floor for 3 hours listening to Gene Hart’s broadcast. I miss the days of the Broad Street Bullies!

  5. Al has been around a long time and he's absolutely right about that schedule, you hate to make excuses but it's a long season let's see how this plays out, I definitely think this is a better team and has the potential to make the playoffs

  6. This team is so far from competing. Our past high picks have not developed. With the ice time these players have had over the last few seasons it’s disappointing to see them not progressing. Our defence is soft. No one fears the flyers. TK is a good player but he’d probably be a 2nd line player on most teams. We are so far off.

  7. Do we REALLY think Seeler can cover for all Drysdale's goofs? I remain doubtful. Pairing him with Walker – who was aggressive, but far less mistake prone – was a great pair. This … reserving judgment.

And putting Deslauriers back in the lineup is like throwing a bottle of water to a drowning victim.

  8. Dropfoot 😂 Al fking sounding like he worked as a deckhand in the 1500's or something.
