Edmonton Oilers Head Coach In BIG Trouble?

The Edmonton Oilers have once again started slow, and find themselves in the same old patterns trying to get out of it. Does that mean Kris Knoblauch might be in trouble? Let’s discuss in this latest edition of Dolynny TV.

  1. No, not click bait. Bowman and Jackson are gutting this team, so yes, its only a matter of time before they get rid of the coach who got them 1 goal away from the cup too. Bowman and Jackson should be fired.

  2. A more honest question would be "at what point is the Oilers' head coach in BIG trouble?"

And the answer is "not yet."

  3. I don't think knobber is in trouble yet… I do agree with ya that he's running with the superstars too much. Having a minute and a half shift then right back on the pp for the same isn't working. With the roster they have it shouldn't be a problem having 2 solid pp units. The big guns need to get going

  4. If Knoblauch gets replaced this year, the new head coach will be the 11th in the past 15 seasons. Many were reputable coaches so what's the real fundamental problem? Whatever it is, it's been going on for quite a while and every time it gets corrected, it creeps back which now seems to happen on almost a seasonal basis. Maybe we could put a finger on it if we saw what goes on internally in the organization day to day.

  5. in stead of making Broberg a fair offer just have nurse play both sides . Thats only 4 and a half million a side

  6. Bench sime defenseman and get some that are still looking for teams like Mark Giordano or others that know what defense means. Then shot the puck

  7. How can the oilers build a competitive team with McD etc if no other team can? This has been a perennial problem with the Oilers…..overpaying “superstars” to the detriment of the rest, or balance, of the rest of the team.

  8. Oilers were predicted by most sources by saying looking at oilers roster they are the team to beat, well this is not the case and someone better understand there is a serious problem to whats going on.

  9. Oilers are player and line juggling way too much hoping for a miracle and nothing is working for them, player on ice positioning and on ice thought focus is just not there for some reason, these are highly paid players for a reason but, they are not looking as that, if it does not change I will agree, there will be consequences.

  10. One letter makes a world of difference. The Oilers should have shown up to training camp, Mad that they lost in the Finals and using that anger to motivate themselves; that is what a championship team would do. Instead, the Oilers arrived at camp, Sad. Then, the coaching staff either didn't read the room (in training camp) or didn't have the personality to motivate their players to Get Up and Get Ready to battle; so the coaches played the players soft, and this start to the season is what has now happened. I like the Oilers coach, i really do; and I liked Woody as well. Coaches are made to be fired, and anyone in the Oilers organization who isnt seriously consider firing the coaching staff (in its entirety) right now, should be shown the door immediately. Here is what i would do; fire the entire coaching staff, bring in an experienced and emotional head coach (Hello? Is this Joel Quenneville?), trade Bouchard for a 2nd pair RD and a middle-6 physical winger, and bring up Philps to center line #4. I'd run a first D-pair of Ekholm with Nurse, a 2nd pair of Kulak with the RD you traded for, and a 3rd pair of LD Emberson and RD Brown (if they could make that pair work). Line 1 would be Skinner with Connor and Zach, Line 2 would be that new physical winger with Arvidsson and Leon, Line 3 would be Adam between Nuge and Brown, and L4 would be Philps with Janmark and Perry/Podkolzin. Can't do anything about the goalies, except get them a new goalie coach and hope. This wouldnt solve all the problems, but playing with anger and determination (or the new coach sits you!) sure will make a lot of difference.

  11. I don't think it's the coach it's the locker room you got some players are getting paid big money for no effort whatsoever and you have other players the bus in your tails to get paid nothing I need to get to locker room and check
