I had honestly fully bought into the whole Ile aux tourtes bridge situation lol. As someone who lives in Montreal, I avoid it when possible as well. It's been under construction and repairs for ages, and the amount of lane closures make it a congested mess, and even alternate routes to get to the store would also be highly congested. Heck even this past summer, there was heavy traffic on the bridge at 4am when I was on my way to Toronto.. lol. Even if he knew the date, the bridge situation would've made it a complete nightmare

I grew up in Sherbrooke, it's a relatively small town so we know most of the people our age. Let's just say I didn't hear good things about his character from the people that knows him. Let's just say that it wouldn't surprise me that he didn't want to go and didn't go. I really like what he brings on the ice and I honestly hope I am wrong.
The bridge being referred to is one that was found to have severe structural issues that the government ignored for years so now they close a bunch of lanes on weekends. What used to be a 15-20 minute drive can now take up to two hours.
What matters is if it was a contract .So I would assume the agent is telling the truth because BOTH parties not knowing would suggest there was simply a mix up by the trading business.
So then we have to break it down WHY did the agent not find out and why did Roy not attempt to find out?The law states a "reasonable"time so if Roy showed up for example 15 minutes late it might be considered that he fulfilled his contract obligations.
Then we have to wonder the real stupid question HOW did they make this contract agreement without even knowing the time or date that seems VERY sketchy and incompetent.
Chances are extremely slim, logically, that the store screwed up in their communications. This is a big deal for the store, so they had to check Roy's availability on that specific day and time in the first place, and they would have dealt directly with the agent on this, not with Roy. So let's assume that the store had all their decks in a row…. then it is the job of the agent to set Roy up. The conclusion is logical and simple: Roy's agent screwed up, or he is covering up for Roy screwing up. We might never know. So let's move on and give the young man the benefit of the doubt.

If the information is true, I'd almost give Roy a pass. How many signings has the guy done? It's probably pretty new to him.
When Roy agreed to do the singing, I'd think that the store and the agent would specifically talk to the date at the time of agreeing.
This is a perfectly reasonable explanation. Obviously a mixup on part of either the store making sure all info was sent to the player's agent office or possibly a mix up with the player's agent office making sure Joshua Roy was given the info. People think pro sports athletes hand out their phone numbers to everyone? This store wouldnt even be given Roy personal info or phone number. This is why agents exist. The agent probably would of sent security with Roy to the store. I dont understand why in todays society every runs to the bottom of the barrel and starts laying blame without knowing the facts or how professional signing are done via contract cause its big money. 25 yrs ago Patrick Roy's business group was charging $40,000 USD for an hr signing. Roy would not just blow it off even for bad traffic. They have duties and responsibilities to the Canadiens organization as a signed pro player for the team

Roy was seen at App 300 in montreal the night before. He was hangover and with a girl at his home 100%. He was doing the same stuff when he was in sherbrook. He is incredibly talented and take everything for granted

In the big picture for Habs fans, this is pretty meaningless. As long as HuGo is in charge, Joshua Roy will never be given a fair chance at the NHL level with the Habs. Because he was a Bergevin pickup. Like Mailloux. And Romanov. And Harris. The Barrons and Heinemans will always be given preference, whether they've earned it or not, because they're 'HuGo's boys'.
