I hate to ask. It's a little early. Is Sullivan too stale? Has the game passed him by? Whatever they are doing doesn't seem to be working.

It's time for Sullivan to be fired, he can't change his system to the players he has and the changes in the players ages. It's the coach and the system that is the overall problem anymore, the same sloppy play for the last 2 years, now going into a third, can't blame the GM or the players anymore, figuring the players are just following the system the coach wants them too. The coach is the issue.
The system simply does not fit the players anymore. If Sullivan won't/can't change the system, the Pens need to move on from him, and I say that with immense respect for Sullivan and knowing that he'll be in demand from other teams.
I'm probably one of the few guys who is not about firing Sullivan. I wouldn't have said that about the past coaches, including Bylsma. But I like Sullivan and his approach. Cooper hasn't 'changed his system' although his players got older and players changed….but they still win, and in part it is because management there has strived to get good players and replaced players with other good players to compete and win. I personally put more on management (part of it can't be blamed on management because they were going to win for so many years that they lost a lot of top picks) and the players. Sid has looked a step behind mentally and physically during games this year, the defence has not been built well to defend (this is on dubas he did a poor job of building a good defence in Toronto as well).
Anyways, Sullivan may be fired, but the players need to do their job, and management need to try to get players that are good. This team was built to be a bottom third to bottom quarter team, I didn't expect them to be above .500, so I'm not surprised at how the year has gone. My only surprise has been that I think this is the year Sid's play drops off
Think thier is a higher problem with this team…the other day I saw Crosby while going back into th4 defense zone Crosby waa right by the guy with the puck ( the other team) an all he had to do is stick his stic out an he could have taken the puck off him..but he didn't..big problem..mabe he wants oc on his line
Are these players not professionals having played since Jr High?! Why are they not able to follow instructions? Why are they not able to play together? They have a Norris Trophy winner, dammit! Why no defense?! It MUST be the coaching for either having the wrong game planning or an inability to teach and motivate. Sully has got to take the heat for this. You seem reluctant to lay the blame where it belongs, DK.
If we had the 3rd and 4th lines we have this year for the last 2 previous seasons we’re easily in the playoffs and maybe win a round. Seems like this team just isn’t meant to win anymore I guess every empire collapses someday.
Sullivan is the team’s biggest issue. Why isn’t anybody wondering about David Quinn? I thought he was brought in to to work with the defensemen, yet they are worse than before. Makes you wonder how much control Quinn has with the defensemen.
Ah, the poor fans who still manage to convince themselves that this team is, somehow, some way, in acquisition mode.
Maybe I’m old school or played a very simple system though high school and college, but I don’t think the weak side winger or center do well enough to support the strong side winger in the d zone. Everybody gets too far ahead of the play. Stay back and support so we don’t get caught so damn always
DK do you know how hands on Dubus is with the Pens style of play, personnel, etc. Is he telling Sullivan to do certain things or is this something else?. Something seems off w. this team. Sid seems unhappy and there doesnt seem to be the usual joy this team shows. That's never good. Acquiring Karlsson made the team worse IMO as one example. I wonder what impact Dubus has on this team..It's not like he has a solid track record coming in. This isnt about one chess move here..this problem is systemwide it seems.
I totally agree DK. When they address the problem, they will put themselves in a better position to win more games . When they bring it to the net it's great when they score. Loose pucks are dangerous, they lead to fast breakaways. Thank you DK, Great show When their planned even more so.
I bet Dubas regrets the EK move more and more with each game that passes. We didn't NEED him, plain and simple. What we did need was a solid two-way defenseman. Someone comes to mind who is now on Washington's blueline.
Something needs to change, I have watched this for several years now, Coach needs to go even if not entirely to blame. Shake it up!
DK, is Crosby hurt? Having off ice issues with the decision to keep playing? (Brady issues) is he mad about his line mates? Do you see him smile at games in person? He’s looked miserable all season and skated like it as well. Is the mind able but the body isn’t or is the passion gone? Maybe it’s human and geno is just truly a machine that keeps on running
