Bruins New Lines Can’t Keep Them Out Of The Box

Bruins New Lines Can’t Keep Them Out Of The Box

The Bruins were unable to generate much offense in their last two games of their first road trip of the season despite moving Brad Marchand to the top line with David Pastrnak and Elias Lindholm vs the Predators. Adam Pellerin and Andy Brickley react to head coach Jim Montgomery’s decision to change up the Bruins’ forward lines and discuss whether we’ll see these same lines in the future. Plus, with 17 penalty minutes against the Predators, the Bruins now lead the NHL in minor and total penalties. The guys discuss what Boston needs to do to stay out of the box moving forward.

  1. The reason the 4th line is productive, is they're not changing the players ten times a game. Monty needs to commit to the other 3 lines, and then just leave them alone. Scoring lines consist of the same center and wings in the same place. He needs to keep the lines consistent for the whole game, and work out line changes in practice.

  2. They knew Little Z was penalty prone when they signed him. "He brings physicality" and physical play brings penalties. The Bs need to trade Jones. He's supposed to be physical with offensive and defensive upside but hasnt shown anything except rookie mistakes after rookie mistakes. He is a liability on every line hes on.

  3. Except we have the most penalty minutes in the league. Zadorov has the most penalty minutes and it's not even close. So your headline for thei vidoe makes no sense.

  4. Line 1 Marchand, Lindholm, Pasta
    Line 2 Lysel, Poitras, Merk
    Line 3 Zacha, Coyle, Freddie
    Line 4 keep as is.

We can’t keep burying our young guys in the minors. Let’s see if they have some upside. The veterans on our team have done nothing but choke.

  5. There is only one line that is contributing and that's the 4th line. 1st & 2nd lines with your supposed superstars definitely need to play better. It's the 3rd line that is just god awful. Max Jones, Tufte and creampuff Poitras are all useless and need to be in Providence and not on the Bruins. We need to find a way to sign Tyler Johnson. We need his veteran presence.
