GAME RECAP: Penguins at Oilers (10.25.24) | Pittsburgh Plays the First of Back-to-Back Games



The Penguins’ road trip continued on to Edmonton, where the home team started out strong. Rookie goaltender Joel Blomqvist faced and stopped 19 shots in the opening period. In the 2nd period, Draisaitl gave the game its first goal. Shortly after, Bouchard increased the Oilers’ lead to 2-0. In the 3rd period, it only took 16 seconds for Nugent-Hopkins to score his first goal of the season. A tally from Ekholm ended the scoring, with Edmonton winning, 4-0. Blomqvist stopped 46 of 50 shots, a save percentage of 0.920.

  1. 50 shots on goal is pathetic… gotta give it to blomvquist tho… 46 saves is a big number lol… maintaining a .920 save % after 50 shots is solid

  2. Letang on the ice for 3 out of 4 Goals Against . Bench Letang until he learns how to play Defense . Oh . and fire Sully .
