Guys, love the podcast.. However, you need to stop ignoring the facts!!! Jarry is just like Murray was/is. He was lights out when he was #2 Goaltender. But, when he was named #1 he would have great numbers in the first half of seasons but in the second half/playoffs, he FORGOT how to play. He is/has been INCONSISTENT for nearly 4 yrs now and it should have been addressed the year they resigned him. I get it that the defense needs to do better ( especially clearing the front of the net ) but I am speaking solely on the man that is getting paid $5 million plus/yr to stop the puck.
I completely agreed with the statement that "Sidney Crosby has not hit that level yet." And I believe that Sid took that step last night. Watching the first couple of games, Sid looked kinda slow, but it turns out that all he ever needs is a push to get going. Last night was it. Love the podcast, have a great day!
Jarry is not worth the $$$. He has been given more than enough time to find consistency in his game. He needs to be moved and make room for new young talent. But whom? No one is gonna take that contract. Letang needs to step his defensive game up or step aside. Maybe reduce his ice time? I think Crosby is just feeling out how everyone is gonna play around him. Sid and Geno still have what it takes…plenty in the tank. Just needs a solid D and lower line support. Pens will be ok.
If Jarry had played that whole game, we lose 15-5
Defense hasn’t been good enough to start the year. But we are turning the puck over way too much. That goes for everyone except Geno lol. Letang and Karlsson are having too many mishaps on defense while giving the puck away. Crosby too. That will improve. I think that will help calm the odd man rushes we give up.
Also, shout-out Graves for playing well to start the year!
Crazy game. Love the milestones. Regretting the Jarry contract. Is it just me or do a lot of guys sign their deals then tank?
Accurate title. I lost my mind during most of the game, mostly for stupid turnovers by our two highest paid defensemen.

The way things are looking, Dubas’s worst move was giving Jarry that contract. I want him to be the guy but how long must I wait.
I was hoping for this year: Sid with 85 points, EK at 75 points, Geno at 70, letang at 50 points, Rust and rackell with 20 goals.
What about Crosby 600 goals?…is that not a milestone? 🤣…7 goals away

I noticed that Karlsson was responsible for almost every major mishap that led to goals or breakaway chances for Buffalo. Just far too many mistakes defensively.
Defense was attrocious.. unreal the number of total breakdowns. Doesnt excuse Jarry. He just collapses. When Ned returns, Jarry should not play. Blomqvist until then to carry the load.
Geno and Sid putting on a bit of a show at times, loved Geno's energy and his game. But Sid with a bunch of completely wicked passes.

SID has another milestone other than the all time points this season – once he gets his 82nd point – he will have beaten Wayne Gretzky for most consecutive point per game seasons
No one wants to hear what I’m going to say, but I’m gonna say it anyways.
Erik Karrlson, and Chris Letang have 36 years of NHL experience between them. They didn’t suddenly forget how to play their positions unless they both have dementia.
Defensively they’ve been awful. So either they don’t care ( I don’t believe that) or they are doing what they are being told to do.
Yes, they look like they are allowing these plays on purpose. Why? Because on some level scoring opportunities are fixed.
I see it on both teams. I see it all the time. When any NHL team wants to buckle down and play sound defensive hockey, they can all do it. But, defensive hockey is tough to watch. It’s not exciting, and doesn’t sell seats in arenas.
Jarry is just a story. Goal tenders are paid to stand on their head and wow the fans. He’s not doing that right now. Why? Lack of confidence? We’ve all seen Jarry stand on his head making saves he shouldn’t make. Now he looks like he should be in the beer league.
Remember all last year when all the real fans were saying to get rid of Jarry and everyone was defending him? Pepperidge farm remembers.

With Letang and Karlsson, poor defense has ALWAYS been an issue. NOT just this season. It seems that most fans tend to overlook that fact. In my opinion, you can’t have two of the same type player on the same team and expect to be great. Especially with Swiss cheese in the net.
I'm actually more concerned for this season about how badly Karlsson and Letang are playing defensively than I am Jarry … only because the Pens at least have two very viable options in Ned and Blom to play instead of Jarry. There are no options other than to hope Karlsson and Letang wake up. If worse comes to worse, they can waive Jarry and at least bury $1.15M of his cap in the AHL (which frees up enough cap for Blomqvist to be in the NHL), and you just go from there. Long-term it stinks because that contract is an albatross for another three years. But at least for this season, they have better options. I don't know what they do about the non-stop breakaways and 2-on-1's that 58 and 65 are routinely giving up so far this season.
The window is closed. Big milestones are all thats left until they can rebuild.
The Pens defense gives the same handicap to no matter which goalie is in net. If Ned and Blom have better save % and wins playing behind the same defense, that's a Jarry problem.

I'm not the type to jump off the "blame the goalie" cliff, but he let in 2 goals off of the first 2 shots of the game. The 3rd one kinda understandable… just a perfectly placed snipe, but man, those first 2 looked bad. It kinda looks to me like he's content with sitting on the bench. He knows the Penguins can't do anything with him, and he's cashing in a check to do nothing, so who really cares? In my opinion, I don't think he cares as much as he would lead on to believe. Where some guys take pride in what they do, it doesn't look like Jarry does. No confidence, no pride, no performance.
I knew whwn the Pens started picking up all these Forwards that the Defense was being ignored again . But now everybody wants to cry about it . Typical Pens .

When’s the last time a 5million dollar goalie went down to the AHL and found his mojo again? If he has another poopy performance I doubt Dubas can get a reasonable return piece, especially since he’s not giving away picks. Yikes

Hey I just discovered you guys! I've been a Pens fan since 2000. Have been with the team through highs and lows. So so happy to see Geno thriving again at this stage in his career! I would have no problem to keep riding with Blomqvist. Jarry, as you guys put it, is basically unplayable right now. Ned comes back, I keep Blomqvist as the back up as things stand right now. I know its going far far back….I still wish we kept Fleury all those years ago!
Jarry to the Avs for Georgiev. See if the Avs want Graves back to. Make any trade you can to the Avs. Miles Wood and Georgiev for Jarry and Graves? Thanks hockey gods.
