  1. Samberg isn’t a hidden gem to anyone who paid close attention to the Jets last year, just super underrated. I wouldn’t have expected to be getting goals from the guy, but he looked ready for more ice time last season. Great defensive player

  2. Sambert earned this spot and everyone is glad for him to be able to get the extra minutes and recognition. Couldn't be a better team guy. I swear he's probably got bruises on bruises from all the shots he blocks, but he'll just do it again. Awesome guy.

  3. He’s doing the same job as demelo. Just solid defensive minded that solidifies his pairing partner and it benefits the core and it’s showing. Probably have a bit of offence too.

  4. Samberg and Nate Schmitt had really solid numbers last year as a pairing. Not surprising that he has continued to develop, but he seems to be really feeling free to join the rush, and shoot the puck this year.

  5. Any Jets fan has known about Samberg since he was drafted. We all expected him to be a top 4, even possibly a top D pairing D. He did not come out of no where. You guys need to spend more time looking at the Jets. Don't feel bad… no one outside of Winnipeg gives the Jets any cred.

  6. Leafs fan from Winnipeg here…the amount of crying towels on my clothesline right now are soaked. Go Leafs! Go!

  7. He has looked better each year. In his first year, he ended up making the coatly mistake of turning the puck over in the Playoffs in the series against Vegas. But he has come along way since then.

  8. 2 of those games were played without Helebuck in goal. So you can't give all the goalie glory to him. Show some love to Comrie.

  9. Couple of things to keep in mind.
Any GM worth his salt will tell you a defenseman, outside of a generational pick, takes 5 years to be NHL ready. Then a couple of years in the league to start being point producers.

Josh Morrissey took 3 years then waited for Bowness to unleash his point production beast mode.

Last. There is a great article in The New York Times. It's about what Arniel changed this summer and what he discovered by talking to Colorado.

  10. As a Jets fan we have seen Samber’s game improve since last year. Arnie is giving him a chance. Perfetti and Samberg were roomies ( maybe still are) and there is a great video by Jets media on their relationship.
