Edmonton Oilers News | Connor McDavid INJURED | Game Rundown @ Blue Jackets
The Oilers Fanatic gives you the rundown on the game!! #Oilers #LetsGoOilers #EdmontonOilers #NHL #columbusbluejackets #connormcdavid #leondraisaitl #stuartskinner #nhlhighlight #nhlhighlights
Wow…too many passengers in a game you’d think someone would step up. Nuge again…invisibly horrid. I think Skinner goes to top line. Maybe call up a few players for the bottom 6 because they need speed and youth bad.
Hi Patrick and all Oilers from Germany, it is early morning here and I can't sleep after looking that horrible game! Every time the same, defense did not know their own slot!!! To clear the slot is an essential point in defense, not to do your job like Bouch is absolute not tolerable! Go in front of the young teammates man!!! Your part isn't only shooting in Powerplay!! Shooting, Font know what to say about missing best chances without be willing to do something special. Passing, same facts. Personal fitness, team looked dead in body language and mentally !!! I think it is time for plan b if there is one. Greatest shit of this game was seeing McD being injured. Hope he will be good again very quick! Best wishes to Connor. This performance showed the real problem and that is the staff. What did they do in the summer??! We are far far away from Playoffs like earth from Mars. Sad sad greetings over the atlantic ocean…
So sorry that we lost Connor. But this was an embarrassing effort. We fell apart, and again our goaltending stats were terrible. Thanks Patrick. Cheers, GO OILERS!!!!
One of the worst performances I have seen in many years. So many terrible passes and 29 made the most. These guys looked like they never played together before. Good thing is there is plenty of room for improvement. Hoping for a speedy recovery for McD. Time for the rest of the team to step up and play like a team. Thanks for the update Patrick.
Every game, entire defense just causally wandering around , not challenging incoming players at blue line , or just plain crowding goalie, possibly working for other teams as non paid screen posts not moving but always detrimental to goalies line of sight . ALL ARE DIRECT EVIDENCE PROVEN BY NUMBER OF GOALS AGAINST . NO BRAINIER.
After "Big Mac" got injured, the Oilers team became a herd of sheep without a shepherd😇. Pathetic Skinner😂 allowed 3 goals after 6 shots and the rest of the herd including “German Bratwurst” and scoreless Hyman forgot how to handle the puck😝. There are 32 teams in the NHL, and Oilers ranks dead last in penalty kill percentage this year🤣. Just look at the stats of the Oilers team and individual players and you will be horribly surprised at how bad this team is and how terrible the individual players are. "Sniper" Hyma n has a "Bagel" 😝in every game this year, Skinner has 1 good game in 7, $9 million 🤑defender Nurse has (-6), etc. 😜Coach "Knob" you are NOBODY😇
Never want to see 97 out. However give Phillips a chance early and this team needs to jam without 97 anyway. Hopefully for not too long…Step the fuck up, RIGHT NOW! Whatever you have.
Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. My comments and observations at the end.
Statistics for Edmonton Oilers at Columbus Blue Jackets October 28th, 2024
Edmonton Oilers:
Ekholm 1 Goal (PP)
Nurse 1 Primary Assist (PP)
Perry 1 Secondary Assist (PP)
Skinner 19 Saves on 25 Shots = .760 Save %age (Projectile Vomit Time)
Again, waiting for surgery, couldn't watch the game.
Okay from what I heard (yes, I listen to the games and calls) this was a no-mercy beating by the Blue Jackets (who Edmonton doesn't do well against historically) on Edmonton. It wasn't pretty (unless your a CBJ fan). McDavid injured 37 seconds into the game. He's returning to Edmonton to be assessed so it isn't just a bruise folks. He'll be out for more than the one game as a guess ONLY. Important Note: The Sky isn't falling. It's happened before. The team has pulled themselves up by the bootstraps and won without Connor. It can happen again.
Stuart Skinner managed a .760 Save percentage letting in 6 goals (what is it with Stu and the # 6) on 25 shots.
One of the few statistical upsides is that besides Nuge (who was close) we won the other faceoff battles (everyone ELSE was 50% or higher and Nuge won 3, lost 4 so he wasn't that far from it). Power Play was one for SIX and the PK stopped 3 out of 4. I think our PP is now sitting at 13% and our PK is the leagues worst at 60%. Remember that distant vision during the playoffs of the PK stopping everything. Wake up to a new day and smell the rendering plant that's taken up residence next door and the Sulfur plant on the other side and the two cattle farms on the other 2 sides where the moo's just like to let loose near your place so you can't win (and shouldn't strike a match or lighter or, well, you get the idea).
This was an ugly game. The ONLY D man who wasn't a – on the night was Troy Stecher (who only played 13:16, least of all D men). The Oilers still aren't blocking shots so that just makes it worse when your goalie can't stop anything it seems. Oil had 8 hits vs 19 for the Blue Jackets. Someone who can throw em kind of needs to get in if you're not going to block.
Take care all, I'm going to have a cup of tea. I won't say if there's anything BUT tea in that tea but I'm having it and yes, I know, it's very early AM on Tuesday when I'm doing this.

Pathetic…these guys consider themselves pros!!??
Wow a dismal game…..😑
no coaching no goaltender and no defence

Time ⏲️ for a trade
There is legitimately people arguing it was a dive by McDavid. There isn't much intelligence left in this world I tell you.
Thanks for the update sorry to hear that hope he's back soon
What’s going to happen to the oilers. They just don’t look good at all. Not even fun to watch

Oilers playoffs I blinking.

Forgetting this game !!!!! ITS A LET , A FREE PASS ON THIS GAME ….
But 97's Injury is a concern
Troy Stecher the only defenceman with a 0 +/-, all the others were in the minus. The only silver lining from this game.

As a Canucks fan, that was brutal to see. His left leg went hard into the boards. Hopefully it's just a sprain, that could very easily be a fracture.
I think he hurt himself on purpose cause they’re losing. Lol
Best of luck to your team.

Speedy Recovery 🙏

When you play on the outside and don’t drive the net that’s what’s likely to happen.
I think the team was celebrating Leon's birthday too much, on the trip to Columbus, after the RedWings game.
Oilers should fold the season. Its over them.
