With the Oilers revealing that they’ll be without their captain Connor McDavid for two-to-three weeks with an ankle injury, what’s next for Edmonton? Gino Reda is joined by Ryan Rishaug and Craig Button to discuss
This is exactly what needed to happen in my honest opinion, the other forwards that they brought in along with the other top guns need to start producing cause the defensemen are outscoring them atm. They are slower, softer, and no clicking anywhere on the ice. Brutal turnovers, bouchard and nurse doing bouchard and nurse things. Skinner stuggling with all this going on is very problematic in the start of the season. I dont see them making the playoffs this year considering how fast they were last year compared to now. I mean edmonton was known for their SPEED, losing all their young speedy players was their greatest mistake. This aint the same team as last year.
I think it's crazy that everyone picked this team to win it all. I know they play in the West and sure they have a chance to make the final, but my God, that defense and goaltending is nowhere near a playoff contender.
All eyes on Leon 👀 he has carried the team before. Just like they just said gotta lead by example no bad penalties or bad body language if things get bad. I hate that shit
This may be exactly what the Oilers need. Instead of relying on McDavid they are going to have to step up. Once this team figures themselves out then add McDavid.
This is when Nuge becomes a Line Driver off the Half-Wall and when Nurse is used as a Hybrid Player and becomes a bruising tough as shit Winger who is a one-shot scorer on Leons line.

Reaction is how the lineup reacts, and many forget the Columbus thrashing was on a road back to back
Didn’t we do this last year. Mc David is becoming the Mark Stone of early season injuries.

Not sure what happens with this team, they look slow and easy to play against.
Defence is NO GOOD!!!!
This will be the start of the test for the oilers lets see how they do in the next month
The Oilers will likely perform better in the absence of McDavid. ✔️
They will be say the same thing 50 games into the season. If you see it believe it, I haven't seen a soft hockey be successful
they wont make the playoffs / first round exit . No one believed me when i typed it in summer. Watch mcdavid wont be a oiler soon either.

I think they play better as a team with him out.
The cup feels so far away ✔🇨🇦😁
Let's find out just how good this is 🇨🇦😁
Oilers need to come out of this winning despite the loss 🇨🇦

Stuart Skinner is the downfall of this team.
