    This organization took a gamble in the way they handled the off-season. I wasn’t a fan. For a while, though, I thought I was wrong. Now, however, it seems as though my fears were warranted.

    I don’t want to overreact but, with this current extended losing streak taken into account and the general vibe this team seems to give off, I think this is the season in which the wheels fall off. I don’t think they are making the playoffs this year, and who knows what happens after that.

    As you could probably tell from my question the other day, I really agree with this assessment of where the team is and why calling guys up is necessary to give it a jolt.

    They clearly need to extend Sullivan's contract and bring in more aged grizzled vets.

    I would do this for Arizona:
    Zucker – Crosby – Rakell
    Guentzel – Malkin – Rust
    McGinn – Carter – Kapanen
    Poehling – Blueger – Puustinen

    I really think this is a problem with the Defense…and include the goal tending as part of the D at this point. Gotta see how it goes when Letang, Petry, and Jarry return. I think Ty Smith deserves a place on the roster…he's certainly is better than Dumo (is less of a liability and has a much bigger upside)..plus he'll continue to get better. Dumo will continue to get worse. You just cant keep putting Dumo out there..that's 20+ minutes of playing shorthanded…it's devastating.

    Commentators last night noted that the Pens have NOT been crashing the net lately and that is exactly what Vegas did all night. We let them sit in the crease in front of DeSmith without much difficulty. It seemed that the D Man benched and up in the press box last night – Matt Friedman – at least tried to clean out the crease when he was allowed to play.
