you a jets-hater shannon? not even one lousy mention. the guy is first in the league right now in wins, 3rd in shutouts,. decent stats overall, but amazing considering how many brutal giveaways happen in front of him. he is the reason we are 2nd overall right now. if you're gonna rank goalies based only on save% or GAA, you could mention a lot more goalies (hutton, crawford, even luongo could be there) but I'm starting to think that even if we win the cup itself, your goalie rankings will still not include him for whatever reason
Why aren't we talking about Connor Hellebuyck for Vezina?
Raanta deserves all the hype he will get and lot more. Remember the Hawks days when Raanta and Darling were fighting for who gets to he the backup for Corey and eventually Darling won.

As for Vezina Raanta has not played nearly enough games for a fair comparison to goalies like Hellebyuck, Andersen, Rinne, and Vasy. Just because these goalies play for good teams does not mean they are only good because of other players! These teams owe a lot of those wins to their goaltenders! How many games did these goalies steal for their team when the team was playing badly. A LOT!

Raanta is impressive, but sadly only a winning teams goalies gets nominated. Btw why are you the awesome season Hellebuyck is having? Might set a new record for american goalies.

Raanta signed extension today. Now its Coyotes time to shine, there isn't any excuses left.

He absolutely deserves to be a finalist for the Vezina.
Raanta is Great! Raanta was the Reason why the Rangers made the playoffs his last year there, he filled in for hank when hank went down from getting hit in the throat with the puck that year. I'm happy for him now, he just got a 3year contract extension with the Coyotes. It was tough to see him go from the Rangers, but we now have Georgiev, and in 2 years that dude from the khl.
Raanta would need better numbers with that many games played and his win/loss record. I'd say he'd honestly need closer to a 2.0 and a .940. He had a fantastic year though.
I can't even imagine Raanta's stats this year if he played for a team like Nashville. Yes, Rinne is a great goalie, but you could put me in net on that team and probably still win some games

Goalie (no matter Who) should win the trophy with Best percent of saves and with the ability To lead his team to playoffs. If a team isn't easily getting over the needed playoffsline it's impossible To win vezina trophy with that fact. Topscorers should do more when they are fighting on "impossible battle"… So… I mean when they(team Arizona) are playing against bigger NHL stars. Team spirit always leads teams in better Mode.
