I like the Winnipeg Jets. They are pretty good. Fuck the nucks.
So what if I don’t know what apocalypse means? It’s not the end of the world.
Hopefully the Jets cause JT Miller another minor meltdown this time
Renny (from Kenny and Renny fame) has said during this season that he thinks the Jets have been forged by playing in Maurice’s system and conditioned to believe that they are never out of a game.
Before, when we didn’t have the defensive structure, we used to try to skill our way and score our way out of tight games while being porous defensively. Now that Bones and Arniel have established a system of defending the slot and high danger areas, it allows Hellebuyck to thrive and enables the team to use the things they learned under Maurice and they’re able to stay in those tight games where they’re being outshot 2-to-1 and still believe they can win with one shot.
Even though it was super frustrating to watch the Jets play the last couple of years, they’ve been forged in the fires of playing terrible defensive systems and that can only be an asset when you actually start playing defensive hockey and get into the playoffs.
I know I’m kicking a dead horse here. But I honestly think the most important piece moving forward into our “window” is PLD. I legitimately just hope Chevy will spend whatever it takes to lock PLD up for a minimum of 4 years.
Also PLD living in Tcona will really boost my morale.
