On Monday at the STH Open House, I picked up one of Berggren’s sticks for sale, of which there have been at least three that all have SHOWTIME written on them in ballpoint pen. When Johnny Burgers signed the stick, I asked him if “SHOWTIME” was the “kind of cringe” thing that he told Daniella Bruce during a Twitter Q&A that he [writes on all of his sticks](https://youtu.be/PMkK-AIARnY?t=386).
Berggren confirmed that yes, SHOWTIME is the reason why he would ask Dogg (GR’s equipment manager) for a ballpoint pen while taping all of his sticks, and kind of laughed about it.
I’m uncertain what is/was written below the SHOWTIME, but his sticks are labeled BERGY and he draws a smiley face on the front side of the grip.
Hopefully, everyone else can now sleep easily as I have done since learning this information.
(I also asked if he’d be changing his number next season, due to the recent availability of 48 via the Smith trade, and he said “maybe” but said he hadn’t thought about it yet.)

As I literally just said he has Kane like vison in a different thread, good for bergy he’s definitely a guy you wanna play like and he obviously does.
Im pretty sure in the 2013 playoffs he was literally screaming it after a goal SHOWTIME, SHOWTIME then said “thats hockey baby” against the Minnesota wild. I bergy finds his own thing while he’s lighting up the playoffs/ hopefully the leafs.
It’s not that embarrassing I used to right 88 on my stick even though that wasn’t my number.
