His first stint at Florida, and first 4 years at Vancouver are unparalleled in terms of skill, consistency and degree to which a team leaned on him to win every game.

    What a goalie.

I mean…he lost to Brodeur both years…wouldn’t call those robbed….but he was a great goalie

Meh, Brodeur definitely wins ‘04. You can’t win a Vezina with a pretty deeply negative record. I understand he had unbelievable stats, but you just can’t.

There’s definitely a better argument for 2007, though.

Luongo had a vastly superior save percentage in 2004 to Brodeur, and the two were close in 2007, so I wouldn’t say robbed both years.

Again, if you’re using goalie W-L records as relevant, you’re foolish.

I would never, never take anything away from Martin Broduer; but Reberto Luongo was the better goaltender overall. He’s like the person that comes second in 100 foot races getting beat each time by a different person.

Get back to me when he wins 2 Harts and 2 Pearsons… And 7 Vezinas..

Hasek is the king and nobody comes close.

Ah yes, I anticipate a polite and civilized internet debate on Brodeur v Luongo.

    Right? 😅

i’m just gonna say those colors are incredible

    Luongo vs Brodeur 2004

    Q:
Luongo vs Brodeur 2004 season comparison

    A:
In the 2003-2004 season, Martin Brodeur appeared in 69 games for the New Jersey Devils, posting a record of 40-23-6 with a 2.03 goals against average, a .932 save percentage, and a league-leading 11 shutouts. Roberto Luongo, meanwhile, appeared in 73 games for the Florida Panthers, posting a record of 35-30-7 with a 2.43 goals against average, a .931 save percentage, and 3 shutouts.

Both goalies had strong seasons, but Brodeur’s impressive performance earned him the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s top goaltender. Brodeur was also named a First Team All-Star and led the Devils to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they ultimately lost to the Philadelphia Flyers. Luongo had a solid season for the Panthers, but the team missed the playoffs.

Excuse me. David Ayres is undefeated in the regular season

Can you share some of whatever you are on?

Idk I’m taking Hasek and Roy every time.

  13. Selmanella

Not even close… Hasek, Roy, and Brodeur exist. And as far as 2004 goes, Kiprusoff was king during that time. Luongo was fantastic but by far not the best lol.

Remember when he completely melted down against the bruins in the cup final?
