The New Jersey Devils were finally able to snap their lengthy home game losing streak. In an exciting overtime battle, they came out victorious against the New York Rangers by a score of 4-3. Damon Severson got the game-winning goal, however, Jack Hughes was the first star of the game. He dominated once again and kept the Devils within striking distance. It wasn’t perfect, but the Devils got the job done.

Hughes has reached superstar level. Pre-season I was thinking that significant improvement from at least one of the big 3 forwards was more important than what we did win loss wise. I'm not saying I don't want us to win. My feeling was we're not gonna win the cup this season, but the likelihood of a cup between 24 and 27 goes up significantly if one of those guys reaches superstar level. And it has happened. Jack Hughes now looks like he could become the best forward not named McDavid. A 50G 70A season is amazingly possible.

The problem with Hughes centering a line is that he cannot win a faceoff. Who do you put as center with Jack if not Haula?
I get why Haula is with Hughes, for face offs which is a good strategy, you know who else is good at face offs? Bo Horvat😏
I keep hearing rumblings that we may in on Horvat. He would be a great center for Hughes if we switch out Haula.
I really believe Jack will only get better in the face off circle as he grows, thinks he's hovering around 35%.
