  1. I'm glad MB is gone and Zadina isn't French. Or Guhle would be gone already.

  2. He is the one I say trade every game! Time to get rid of him while he is still young o we can get someone decent.

  3. A few thoughts: 1) His trade value seems too low at the moment, I agree with others below: hold off for now. 2) Honestly, outside of actually scoring, I feel like Zadina plays well. He’s an active forechecker and he generates a lot of scoring chances. The problem is they don't pan out and that's reflected in his abysmal shooting percentage (6.5%). Is that just bad luck or did his once great shot not translate to the NHL? Not sure. 3) Doesn't matter what we think, Yzerman will likely get full value from him either way.

  4. If there was any general manager that I would trust to trade one of our potentially great assets for an equally great asset it's Stevie

  5. Zadina is no good for Detroit, and Detroit is no good for Zadina. He needs a different system to thrive, and Detroit needs to bring up Simon and others (and Vrana coming back)

  6. I've been saying for months: Zadina, 1st, and prospect for Chychrun. Not that I think it will happen, but both teams get what they need out of that. Chychrun's contract is nearly perfect for how Yzerman has positioned his salary structure for the next few years and he will almost surely outplay that contract and boost the rebuild into next year.

  7. You gotta trade him now based on his upside, because he doesn’t perform next season, ALL value is lost and there is no upside

  8. This imo isn’t a Zadina problem it’s a Blashill problem. You can look at Rasmussen as well who looks a million times better on the win. Rasmussen and Veleno have good chemistry. Zadina is somewhat expendable because of Vrana and Raymond as well as Berggren coming up soon. My thing is Blashill has consistently focused on their defense, putting them on lines without offensive minded players around them. I think you can argue the system we are using isn’t ideal for anyone as well. Blashill imo needs to go, he will likely succeed at his next stop and he’s done good developing the kids 200 foot game, he’s just not getting us over the hump imo.

  9. Mock trade:

    To Red wings: Max Domi.

To Blue Jackets: Filip Zadina & a 2022 3rd round pick.

Edit: Feel free to edit my mock trade.

  10. We could trade zadina. Yzerman would get a good return. I'm ok with it. I also see zadina doing well with Vrana. He did last year, and I'm interested to see what they do together. Could give us 3 legit scoring lines and a shut down line. We will see what Yzerman has up his sleeve. It'll be fun.

  11. I think as far as Stevie Y is concerned, nobody’s untouchable on this team. He will make a trade only if he gets a great return. He has proven over the years that he will make the big trade as long as he gets a good asset/player(s) in return.

  12. Trade Zadina!! I’m a wings fan. Zadina is a defensive liability. He has no ability to play both ends of the puck

  13. I think we need to get rid of Blashill first. Then evaluate the players from there. Getting rid of Blashill would be a change of scenery by itself.

  14. Resigning him to a low impact deal is not going to break the bank.
A 2 year deal is all I would offer him. If he rebounds on a line with Vrana then maybe they can get something in value in a package deal. So far nearing a draft bust, especially passing on Quinn Hughes.

  15. I see a few teams that make sense to make a deal w Detroit for Zadina.
Ottawa comes to mind as they have a bit of everything to trade. And Stuetzle and Zadina has potential to be a good combo. I also see Carolina, and Edmonton also make sense. New Jersey also comes to mind

  16. I think there's an additional value of holding on to Zadina a little longer, in that it keeps a lot of pressure on all 4 lines of forwards, especially with Vrana returning. There's gonna be a hefty fight to not be a healthy scratch.

  17. Former Halifax Mooseheads drafted by Detroit haven’t fared very well; Zadina, Jared MacIsaac, Martin Frk. I have my eye on Vasily Podkolzin.

  18. Trade him! He doesn’t fit in and a change of scenery will help him. The wings have more good up and coming youngsters! Trade Dekeyser as well!

  19. I'd be happy if he was traded. He is too predictable and nothing seems to change that. Same move every time. Can't get a clean shot on net. Forehand, backhand, wrist shot: blocked by a skate or stick. He doesn't pass well. Get something for him. Good luck to Zadina elsewhere.

  20. I would. IO think SY is thinking that way too. IF something comes up that fills a spot in the Yzerplan – then have a nice career

  21. All DEPENDS on the return for Zed eh? Many DRW fans in the past off-season that the Wings would never leave a young high draft pick defenseman vulnerable in the Seattle expansion draft …yet "never say never"! As commented in the video, if the Yzerplan gurus in Detroit get a solid return for Zedina …then pull the trigger. Common Sense …no drama or controversy here. Just fans endlessly speculating…

  22. yzerman has said this team needs a second line center. it wouldnt suprise me if he moves him for draft capitol

  23. If we did a trade concerning Zadina, im not sure Yzerman would chase another prospect. With edvinsson, berggren, solderbloom (holy hell I know I butchered the spelling), among others who seem to either be ready or very near I don't see the need or pressure to pick up a fringe nhl player even with picks. He'd want to me a trade that will not benefit the team in the now, but for the next year+

  24. I do t see yzerman trading him unless he gets a big haul, zadina is good he has the worst puck luck I’ve ever seen.

  25. Zadina does not fit on this roster. It’s laughable that people wanna put him on the second line to do nothing but miss the net.
