Yes its basically up to barzal and sorokin Isles only star-like players to will this team to the playoffs. So sad that lou thinks this flawed roster that will be fossilizing with him soon is better than it is. Needs-two top six upgrades plus a puck mover d man who can run a pp. How are you gonna pull that off by march 13 Lou? And no one wants isles b level prospects in trade. I wonder if lou has taken a look at la kings list of grade a prospects? la is oozing with blue chip prospects that they could trade a few away for any player available if they chose to and still be loaded with prospects. Thats how you build a winner lou. Scouting and drafting. Not by putting together the best old age team you can find. I remember around '99 isles had the top prospect pool in the nhl after getting luongo (plus k jonsson thanks to laffs trade) and brewer top five in '97 draft plus had chara, mccabe. Added connolly, pyatt top 10 '99 draft plus jokenin thru trade isles missed out on in '97 draft giving isles the 3, 4, 5 picks of that draft. Then buffoon gm milbury pissed it all away. I am so tired of lousy isle gm's. So tired of lou-rosterbation. I am out of here…
With Lambert being under Trotz for years I expected more from him. Especially knowing what he has and needs to do. Turns out he is a mediocre coach that looks like he is over his head at times.
The isles haven't won ANYTHING since 1989. Not a division, not a conference title, not a presidents trophy and not a cup. The islanders current fan base has such low standards, they think the isles short seasons ECF runs are a "success" and Lou is some sort of immortal that must be around forever. That's just not good enough! The isles need to sell mayfield, sell varly and sell either JGP or Brock to make room for Raty next season. No more 4th line bums getting 6 year contracts. Clutter is waste of space and cap. The isles need offense but they have the 5 million dollar loser bailey on line 1!! They refuse to take a chance and call up Ishkakov, a guy with speed and elite hands that's actually producing. Yet they called up that loser holmstrom that only had 5 AHL points in his call up. The isles don't have a meritocracy, they have a good old boys club and lou is a clown. At this point, it's all on the owners.
