I mean at least he’s going to be able to buy a house

Cole’s Grandfather was playing hockey in Wisconsin before his son was born in Ontario.

I looked it up and thanks to an amendment in the citizenship law, he’s automatically a citizen. He would need to apply for a citizenship certificate, which he probably already has if he’s been living and working in Canada for 3 years. No reason to mess around with work visas if you can avoid it.

As a Canadian who lived in the US for 5 years, must be nice to be entitled to live and work anywhere. I had to deal with so much visa crap. I don’t miss it at all.

Does Canada have automatic parental citizenship? Or would he have to apply for it?
