  1. Hughes will be in the drivers seat to get a goalie. No real rush since he can easily draft a goalie in early rounds.

Slafkovsky needs more ice time including some on the number one power play. He also needs to continue using his body checks. Let's see what he can do on the top line also on the left wing.

  2. draft dvorsky
slafkovsky used to play with mesar
it's known slafkovsky is much better playing with mesar
dvorsky was playing several times with those two on junior championships, so they know each other
in this way, you have a complete slovak attack line
having national lines isn't that bad idea, the red wings had an entire line made of russians, and everybody knows how the line was excellent

  3. I drove 650KM to watch the game Saturday. In person, keying in on Slaf, his backcheck was amazing. Way more aggressive closing out and making it difficult for the other team.

  4. Portillo is a third rounder so why paying a second rounder and another AHL asset? Nah, I’d not pay more than a third rounder or a AHL young B or C prospect. If Portillo is so good, why he is not with Buffalo or in their AHL team?

  5. I'm basically a noob when it comes to hockey, I watch the habs games highlights and sometimes other teams, and used to have some hockey cards when I was a kid, played a bunch of NHL 98 and that's it. Would it not better to make lines based on the players synergy instead of a "you don't play good enough to be on "x" line"? maybe it is part of the equation, but it seems I'm often hearing about how players got ticked off to the 3rd/4th line for how bad they played or something. What if a 4th line player happens to be really good with caufield and zuzuki, but we don't get to see it because it's never tried/not tried "enough"(quotes because that's somewhat subjective)?

  6. I feel that the Canadiens confidence was broken by the play of their goaltenders and they never recovered. We need a good goaltender. Mintembault can play good but he's still not a #1 goalie.

  7. I FUCKING HOPE NOT… I have seen Devon Levi play he is wayyyyy overrated. He will not be a number one goalie on a good playoff team mark my word

  8. I don’t know where you get your info. Why trade for the goalie that will be a free agent.

  9. Guys we are shoe horning Slafkovsky here and as CANADIENS fans we are too DEEP in our wants to see that this kid SHOULD not be in the NHL at this stage.

We want is so bad we are rushing to put him on the first line!!!!!

Do we hear ourselves talking or are we in a fan induced ECHO CHAMBER of WANTING SOMETHING!!!

Not one of the 2022 draft class is in the NHL

THEY ARE all marinating and developing in the AHL AND JUNIOR

SLAF SHOULD be with the Erie Otters and traded to a contender to make a memorial cup run

We are conferring magical powers to Adam Nicolas

Stop being fans and see the 2022 draft class for what it is Two very solid Defenders in Juricek and Nemec both toiling in the AHL

    COOLEY working in the NCAA

AND Slaf and Wright were were 1 a and 1b selections who should be in junior

Not wishing them onto THE FIRST LINE for heavens sake

I say see the WORLD for what it is not what we WANT it to be

Do we really believe Adams Nicolas — who was with Toronto Turned Austin Mathews into a 60 goal scorer and he transformed MARNER and Nylander or were they a First Round 4 th Round and 8 th Round pick who happened to be more talented then our First overall

I am not throwing shade on Slaf and he likely will be a good player but the should be where Beck and Mesar are far from the prying eyes..,

  10. The young goalie I would love to get in our system is wolfe from Calgary, it would be an expensive trade but could center it around Anderson .

  11. For the right price I'd definitely trade for him and see what happens! Worse case they lose a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Not a big deal! Or give them one of our many prospects! I'd also try and take the best goalie available in this draft too! Gotta take the risks because they will be contenders soon with all these amazing young players but the one thing they need now is a high end goalie prospect. They are good in basically every position now

  12. Its NOT! the Habs goalies fault! Put a team that SCOREs, that has a good defensive core in front of these poor firing squad victims…………&& see what happens
