Despite December’s woes, we wouldn’t have believed we’d be here at the start of the season but would have been thrilled with it.
Money Puck says we should have clearly lost. But it is more complicated that that.
What really happened: Played them close to even in the first (except for a flurry of chances for Carolina in the last couple of minutes). Carolina absolutely dominated by a huge margin in the second. All hail Vitek in the 2nd for keeping us in it. Then the Devils outplayed Carolina but just enough in the third. Devils took max advantage of chances in the third (thank you Mercer!!!!)

Out-Speeding the Canes had them shook honestly. This team seems to have rebooted and decided “fuck this league” and I’m here for it. Especially when we’re about to add 2 elite D-men. And do I ever hate the Canes. This is glorious.
