This one straight outta the deep end this evening, as I take a look at two sides to the Connor McDavid trade request arguement should the Edmonton Oilers miss the playoffs this season!

  1. In my opinion, I think he will stay of the Oilers because franchise players normally stay with the teams that they are drafted in. Ovi, for example I took an 18 years for a cup

  2. I don't think he would ask for a trade but I think Draisaitl will need to be moved to fix the Oilers problems. The Nurse contract is the reason for that. That is Holland's fault.

  3. They won’t miss playoffs. No worries Oilers fans. “The road to success is paved with mistakes well handled” They will figure this out in time.

  4. it is definitely time to PANIC. The defence has to step up soon or it's over. The collapse of Campbell in the net really bites Holland m in the ass.

  5. Sometimes we need reminders. It took Ovechkin, what, 13 years to win a cup? He's still there with only one ring. I also wouldn't blame any player if they said, time to work somewhere else. It quite often doesn't go better though. Food for thought.

  6. McDavid Trade= Bigger Packaging More Picks, Better Prospects, & Wayne Gretzkey Tarde Part 2

  7. I think they made some gambles and they haven’t paid off too much. There have been some injury’s and they need to stop thinking about tomorrow. Prospects don’t matter Connor and Leon matter. Time is now sell the farm.

  8. Obviously I wouldn’t want to see McDavid gone but could we get a guys like Mathew’s for him? If McDavid absolutely has to go

  9. They need defense and they can't any defenseman we lost Duncan Keith we lost Mike Smith he stopped a lot of pucks that Jack Campbell and Skinner Can't Stop

  10. I have a question, there are about 1100 active players in the NHL with 736 roster spots, of thous how many players are willing to play for a Canadian team ?? half ?? A third ?? There is a part of me that feels bad for Ken Holland and there's a part of me that feels like his Management team doesn't have the mind to run a Western Canadian hockey club. So I guess you have to ask yourself what kind of person is Connor McDavid, and what kind of perspective is he looking at this from, there is no chance from the way he play's he's an unintelligent person. Is there a team out there that can take him and get him a cup next year, if not how long will it take? Or does he see how unbelievably hard it is to win and want to stay with this core and win against the odds. You'd probably have to ask his wife but I doubt she'd tell you lol

  11. You just talked about the leafs how about Matthews he's going to want to get traded too if they don't do nothing big deal they win in the regular season but they do nothing in the playoffs just like the Oilers

  12. You're frustrated just like everybody else I don't blame you who's an Oiler fan I've been in order to find since I was 4 years old so think of how many losing Seasons I seen them go though not even making the playoffs

  13. Nurse's stupid contract is part of the reason the D sucks so badly! His 9 mil could be 3 D-men week can actually hustle and defend.
McDavid is amazing but he's not a team player and he seems like he's about as much fun to be around as Jason Kenney at a pride parade!
This team plays like they all hate each other!!

  14. This sport is not about getting cups for the great players! It took Ovechkin 12 years to win a cup with the team that drafted him!
Teams win cups for each other, not for a star player!
If McDavid can't foster a team dynamic that has the drive to play for each other then he doesn't deserve a cup! This isn't golf thank Christ!!

  15. It's a possibility it could happen. But remember it took 13 years for Ovechkin to win a cup. It took Yzerman 14 to win his first of 3 cups. Nathan McKinnon took 9 years to win his first cup and he is only 2 years older than Mcdavid. Sometimes, patience is key. Mcdavid and Draisaitl are as patient as Backstrom and Ovechkin. The time will come.

  16. It's probably best for him to leave the Oilers, as we have nothing to offer, and nothing down the road …… Below are the team results at the end of the year.

    Ovechkin — 17 years (05~22)

    ❤ NHL #1 — 3 times

    Conf #1 — 1

    Div #1 — 5

    ❤‍🩹 Eliminated 3

    Yzerman — 22 years (83~06, 04-05 season canceled)

    ❤ NHL #1 — 5 times

    Conf #1 — 2

    Div #1 — 5

    ❤‍🩹 Eliminated 2

    Mackinnon — 9 years (13~22)

    ❤ NHL #1 — 1 time

    Conf #1 — 1

    Div #1 — 1

    ❤‍🩹 Eliminated 3

    McDavid — 7 years (15~22)

    ❤ NHL #1 — 0 time

    Conf #1 — 0

    Div #1 — 0

    ❤‍🩹 Eliminated 3

For just making the playoffs, the Oilers have the worst record of all 4 teams; and we are looking at another year of missing the playoffs …

  17. Connor’s not going anywhere. Alot of this is on the players, they need to step up. Holland was expecting these young guys to step up but obviously they didn’t, now they’re desperate for D. Kenny rushed a deal with Nurse which was the worst thing he did and now he can’t get anything decent.
    On another topic:
I wonder if the team that wins the 1st overall draft would trade their pick for Connor McDavid this draft🤔

  18. I'll remain a fan of the team till I die, but Draisaitl is my favorite player and I'd probably cry if he walked or was traded; I wouldn't blame him personally. For Mcdavid, he needs to request a trade.

  19. I've always been resigned to the fact we're unlikely to keep both McDavid and Draisaitl when their contracts are up, so to be honest – I would be fine with building a team around Draisaitl, Kane, Hyman and Nuge but OMG PLEASE don't let McDavid go for some draft picks – get some solid franchise level experienced D
