I’m currently in Pakistan visiting family, and the only thing my grandmother knows about Canada (where I live now) is that they play hockey. Showed her her first game a couple nights ago. Field hockey is big here, but I’d love to see the ice variety take off.

The spectacular view makes this more legit than all the recent “winter classic”.

Whoa! Pretty!

I actually want to visit Skardu so badly. Gateway to the Karakorum mountain range. Incredibly beautiful but so remote

Super cool. I’d love to play some pick up there

Is that the same stock sunset realtors use?

Honestly, if things were more affordable, and more brown guys were on skates (especially in Canadian cities), you’d see a large handful of superstars for sure. Knew too many sensational hockey players that couldn’t get into the sport and stuck to ball hockey primarily.

I visited Skardu area around 10 years ago. Spent two months in a very small village, but I explored around, crossed the Deosai Plateau, went to one of the Nanga Parbat base camps. Pretty unforgettable.

The fact that the rink is askew within the ice sheet borders is mildly infuriating.
That view is absolutely beautiful for any hockey player/fan

Nice!

They used the same clouds in both edits. Maybe one of the default Adobe sky replacements?

Okay I’m going to assume that these photographs have gone through more than a little processing given the vast difference between the sky and the ice, but wow if that’s not beautiful. I would love to play there

My ignorant ass had no idea.
Is that K2 in the background of the first pic?
This is absolutely gorgeous. Thanks.
As a Canadian, I approve
