  1. They definitely need a top 6 defenceman to make a longer playoff run BUT they need a top 6 scoring winger to help them get into the playoffs. The playoffs are all about defence (except Calgary vs Edmonton) and the regular season is all about scoring enough to win games.

  2. we have tons of skill on D, especially with JBD and Thompson coming, we need a big physical presence, let's go really big, Logan Stanley

  3. If Dorion actually goes out and lands both a top 2 winger and top 4 Defensemen during this off season. I'll make the trip and have my family attend there first Sens game.

  4. The current blueline looks pretty solid in my opinion, I’m keeping Zaitsev in my top 10 for now. I don’t think buying him out or trading another asset to get rid of him is worth it. Just put him on waivers and send him to Belleville. GMPD had no problem doing it to MDZ. Then when injury strikes we’ll be happy to have zaitsev fill in. Obviously If Jiricek or Nemec are available at #7 it’s a no brainer to add one of them to the fold.

    Chabot-Zub
    Sanderson-Hamonic
    Holden-Thompson
    Branstrom-JBD
    MDZ- zaitsev

  5. WEEgar shoots right boys he would be an amazing signing when he's UFA. Sign him and zub long term and trade Thompson and or JBD

  6. Love these prospect discussions, they're so informative and in depth. That Lorenz kid does look like a great selection, fits the sens mold nicely

  7. I'm sorry but we have to quit dreaming, unfortunately no high quality free agent defenseman is going to be willing to sign in Ottawa, unless we are willing to go over pay, and then we are getting someone that is only coming here for the extra payday. Focus on the winger for Stutzle, and then trade for a defenseman that's on a cap strapped team. If Phoenix is willing to move Keller, that's the winger to focus on, but it will take a haul. I'd offer the 2022 first(7th overall), their 2023 first, Zaitsev and Lassi Thomson (if necessary), but only if Phoenix retains 1 or 1.5 million of Keller's contract. It's a huge haul but we get rid of Zaitsev and a bonafide top notch right wing for Timmy for under 6 million(for another 5-6 years I believe). Phoenix actually saves a little money and walks away with two fairly high firsts and Thomson (though I'd like to keep him if possible). I'd hate to make a big move for a dman and then be short of roster spots when Thomson and/or JBD are ready to make the jump. I think Hamonic or Holden can hold the fort this year(to start), especially if the goaltending is stable and Sanderson comes in ready to contribute (which I'd bet on). Gonna be an interesting offseason at least, but I'd be looking at the cap teams to find a dman. Tampa, Vegas, Toronto, etc all need to offload salary

  8. Kris Letang. Proven champ and a good French boy for Chabby to chat with. He's old but on a short term deal around 5.5-6×2 would be a sick addition.

  9. Gotta love how you guys say first listen of the day when your pod doesn't come out till the afternoon 😂

  10. Conner Murphy from Chicago for Ottawa’s 1st and Hawks take Zaitsev’s contract. Murphy perfect pairing for Sanderson or Chabot. Right shot 6-4” 212 lb. Similar dollars to Z and signed for three more years.

  11. As a Wild fan, it could make sense to move both Fiala and Dumba, especially if they can get a RHD who is close to NHL ready out of trading one of them. I could see Fiala to NJ for Holtz and a prospect, potentially Reilly Walsh (RHD) and then they could send Dumba to Ottawa. I think with the Parise/Suter buyouts the Wild may try to get some young talent that have contracts expiring just after the buyouts expire.

What would you be willing to give up for Dumba?
