    Pretty sure that if Karlsson doesn't want to leave, the honest thing to do is for the Senators to find a way to get rid of Hoffman. This sort of stuff can't fly, and Karlsson had enough crap for one year. If he wants to leave, they should let him do whatever he wants. But if he wants to stay, the Senators, out of respect for him, need to find a way to get Hoffman out. He shouldn't have to look at the guy every day.

    I find it hard to believe that this thing only popped up within the last season. Turris' wife knew about this and her comments make it sound like it was a well established feud. I'd be surprised if this hasn't been going on for a while

    Karlsson and his wife did not deserve that kind of harassment from anyone, never mind the batshit girlfriend of a teammate. I hope he leaves to a team that will respect his talent and get the hell out of that shithole that Eugene Melnyk has created out of the Ottawa Senators.

    This is coming from a Sabres fan but from what I’ve seen from melnyk he doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who would put in a genuine effort to iron out the situation so both of them can stay on the team

    Hoffman has to go no way you can keep him in the room. Ek is well respected by his teammates and he wants to stay in ottawa…even if it means buying hoffman out ger him gone.. But reality loads of teams will pounce on getting him at a big dicount.

    Ottawa needs to clean house, get big hauls for Hoffman and Karlsson, fire Guy Boucher, Randy Lee and maybe even Pierre Dorion, go into a rebuild, its the only to save this franchise

    oh wait, they have Eugene Melnyk as their owner but fortunately, the 1st overall pick next year is already going to the Sens, oh wait, they traded that pick to Colorado for Matt Duchene

    R.I.P the Sens, I still can't believe this team went to a 2OT game 7 eastern conference final, it will be the farthest the Sens go for a LONG time

    I would praise Ottawa fans for booing the fuck out of Hoffmann next season whenever he makes an appearance. Like how Barca does when Ronaldo gets the ball in Camp Nou.

    I'm a leafs fan. As much as I hate all things Ottawa I hope they get that figured out..I will never stoop to wishing injuries on players, or hoping their child dies. I didn't even like that when April Reimer was bothered by fellow fans. I think Hoffman goes. He'll be demanding less money than karlsson.

    Ottawa's in rough shape…I took a peek at their 8 highest salaries & I think this needs sharing:

    1. $7,250,000 = Bobby Ryan = UN-MOVEABLE CONTRACT (unless you add a 1st+ to dump it)
    2. $6,500,000 = Erik Karlsson = TO BE TRADED BELOW MARKET (confirmed by Hoffman's wife)
    3. $6,000,000 = Matt Duchene = WILL WALK IN 2019 (even though he cost an entire rebuild)
    4. $5,190,000 = Matt Hoffman = TO BE TRADED FOR NOTHING (confirmed by his beautiful wife)
    5. $4,875,000 = Marion Gaborik = UN-MOVEABLE CONTRACT (exists only to save Melnyk $$$)
    6. $4,750,000 = Craig Anderson = NEARLY UN-MOVEABLE (a bottom 5 NHL SV% at 37 years old)
    7. $4,650,000 = Clarke MacArthur = FORCED INTO RETIREMENT (but his cap-hit remains on LTIR)
    8. $3,250,000 = Zack Smith = NEARLY UN-MOVEABLE (19 point in 70 games & as an over 30 FWD)

    Karlsson is the only positive on that list…but he knew he was gone before going to court. Even if Hoffman's traded today, Karlsson won't re-sign. It's time for a rebuild…but it'll be a rough one after giving up their:

    1. 2019 Round 1 Pick to Colorado | 1-10 Overall
    2. 2017 Round 1 Pick to Colorado | 28th Overall (Shane Bowers)
    3. 2018 Round 2 Pick to Detroit | 33rd Overall

    5. 2016 Round 2 Pick to Vancouver | 42nd Overall (John Dahlen)

    At least they have a nice arena…
