Sadly I think the problems in Columbus go higher than the coach.
At this point if I was the owner I’d nuke the front office and start over 🤷♂️

Vegas and Seattle were actually able to get some good players in their expansions drafts and leverage teams due to the cap, which didn’t exist back when Columbus entered the league.
That said, they haven’t been managed great over their history and having a reputation of not being a winning team means not many players will see them as a destination. It is unfortunate Panarin didn’t stick around he was the star they desperately needed.

I feel like that’s mostly because the Kraken and the Knights both had incredible drafting opportunities from the second of their birth. The Blue Jackets kind of got shafted in the face with their drafting opportunities from the get go. But hey, at least the Blue Jackets managed to sweep the President Trophy winning Lightning out of the playoffs that one year!
