Do people understand that Hockey is three forwards and two defenseman and not five forwards? Doughty has been robbed of the Norris for years. About time he gets it.
Hahahaahaa so many Kings fans here still somehow butthurt even though their guy won the award. If you're really talking about dominant D-men who light it up in all three zones, Victor Hedman is the best NHL defenseman followed by Duncan Keith then Roman Josi (from a Sharks fan). The reason Doughty gets hyped up so much is because he plays in L.A., a huge market that has been very successful and dominant recently, obviously in large part to Doughty's play. The same goes for why Karlsson and Burns are regarded very highly – because people just see point totals and don't watch film/games. I watch A LOT of hockey just like many of you probably do, and Doughty would be fourth on my list after Hedman, Keith and Josi, with Pietrangelo coming in at 5. Karlsson, Giordano, Burns, Subban and Weber to close out the top ten. Queue the massive hate

This is absolutely ridiculous. Erik Karlsson had a career year and the type of season a defenseman has not had since Paul Coffey or Bobby Orr. I'm sorry but all you idiots who think Doughty is better need to type in "All defensemen get beat – doughty" in that search bar up top. Karlsson had more takeaways, more blocked shots, better possession stats, and absolutely ridiculous offensive numbers this season! The NHL awards are as big a joke as the all star game.
