Teddy Blueger scored his first goal of the season against Latvian goalie Elvis Merzlikins. Pittsburgh Penguins won the game with 7:2. Blueger’s goal also spoiled Merzlikins debut in NHL.
Colombus Blue Jackets head coach John Tortorella on Elvis: “He looked really calm in the first period. But it’s an unforgiving league. We knew there were going to be lessons like this for us. The important thing, now, is how we handle it.”
