They would probably want jiricek+ for him. Would love to have him but it wouldn’t be worth all that we would have to give up. If the jackets end up with like the 5th pick this year I wouldn’t mind packaging that for him
SatanicMonk
best I can do is Sonny Milano and a third.

as someone else said it’s gonna be jiricek + a first + something else at a minimum. It ain’t happening

The asking price would be too high. As a great player, he is, getting him would be too expensive and he wouldn’t even fill the spot as a number 1 center due to his average faceoffs.
At most I would offer 2024 1st, Sillinger, Chinakhov, and Bemstrom. Maybe add 2nd rounder if it was almost there. This would obviously not go through but there’s no point breaking the bank over someone not named Mcdavid.

So the likely asking price is 3-4 first rounders and a prospect. I’m willing to give them:
* Sillinger * 2023 1st (top three protected, otherwise they’ll get the 1st the CBJ get for Gavy) * Whatever pick Nyquist lands the CBJ this year * 2024 1st * 2026 1st (conditional on a re-signing)
Voracek’s $8.25mn and Roslovic’s $4mn come off the books for 2024-25, so there’s money available to resign him and there’s not going to be a crazy cap crunch for next season. So my next question is, if this deal was accepted, what would you think the term/AAV should be on a re-sign?

I would send nothing because a trade like that is too rich for our blood.

I would trade anything that isn’t Werenski, Jiricek or our 2023 first. Petey is one of my favorite players and he would make magic with our wingers. We only make the trade at the draft and where we are picking determines a lot of the strategy. Bedard, Fantili and Carlsson look like they play in 2024. If we get Bedard then put KJ and Svozil on the list of untouchables. Lots of moving parts depending on what we are trading and who we can draft. It would feel bad to exchange Johnson for Pettersson considering KJ is on his ELC and looks like a good hockey player even if projecting him to Pettersson’s production is risky.

I think the spiciest thing I would do is probably Patrik Laine and Adam Boqvist + fixers. If we still have Gavrikov, and they want more, I’d offer him (unlikely to work for them because of cap) or his pick. I’d consider Sillinger but would prefer 2024 1st unless we have Bedard/Fantili/Carlsson because w. I don’t know how other teams would value Laine but I think he’d score a lot of points with JT Miller. I’ve heard they like Roslovic too, I have no idea how they’d make the cap work but if we have Petey and/or Sillinger and/or 23 top 3 pick he just doesn’t have a place on the roster.
Johnson – Jenner- Gaudreau Marchenko – Pettersson – 23 1st/Bemstrom Chinakov – Sillinger/23 1st – Voracek(?)/Danforth hopefully something different on the 4th line

Wouldn’t … we are sellers not buyers
Absolutely not. They’d want and be perfectly justified in asking for this year’s first, Jiricek, and more. Fuck that.
Wouldn’t be mad
Why would he want to leave a non competitive team for a team thats arguably worse?
