"Needle-nose Ned"? "Ned the Head"? C'mon, buddy. Case Western High. I did the whistling belly-button trick at the high school talent show? Bing. Ned Ryerson, got the shingles real bad senior year, almost didn't graduate? Bing, again. Ned Ryerson? I dated your sister Mary Pat a couple of times until you told me not to anymore? Well?
Phil: Ned Ryerson!
Ned: BING!
Yzerplan masterclass once again 😂 this organization is a joke
I watch him play last night against the wolves. He was pretty solid and I hope he gets another chance at the show
Hurricanes please pick him up
Really wondering what's going on with Detroit. Some of their guys like Larkin and bertuzzi who were suppose to be apart of the resurgence for the wings and they are both 26/27 and up coming free agents. Do the wings decide to move on and center their rebuild around different players? Where's the superstar talent that is needed to be an elite team?
I think Yzerman maybe wants him to clear waivers so he can keep him down in GR just like he did with Vrana.
Who cares anymore…this season is a wash and this franchise is a joke….Yzerman has proven with his moves over the last 12 months he doesn't know how to rebuild this dump of an organization. Your coach is in way over his head, your sophomores aren't great, your free agents have either cooled off and are stop gaps or signed for way too long/too expensive to ever be moved, you've got one good player who still isn't signed and your prospects are struggling or not expected to be game changers if they do crack the NHL. I have no faith in this plan anymore and have begun to except this franchise will never compete for a cup again
This year has been very weird, in good and bad ways, it sucks that Ned and Varana have been let downs but guys like Berrgrion, Hornik and Wallman have been very solid surprises this season and not to mention Sloderblom was showing he was a steal in the 6th Rd, I expect him to learn how to use his bigger body more effectivly in the AHL and i hope Simon Edvinson becomes the partner Seider deserves to have, cause the offence is there but are defenceive play is woof
We only gave up a 3rd for him lol not that much stock
You better apologize to Don Waddell.
LA going to claim him hopefully
3 million cap hit? I dunno if anyone would bite and claim him at that price for how he's played. Dunno, maybe a rebuild team might?
Ned might get taken, maybe some GM might think that he might do well in a new place. Having said that I don't think he'll get picked up. He comes with a hefty price tag for someone one hasn't done well. I suspect Stevie made some calls to try and trade him, but there were no takers. We'll see what happens. I don't think he'll get picked up, but wouldn't be surprised if someone takes a chance on him.
ned was never the same after that blue angels stunt 🤷♂️🤔🤷♂️
I would be surprised if Ned isn't claimed. Lots of teams with shaky goaltending.
I don't see why a team wouldn't take a chance on him. Only 3 million which expires at the end of this season, it's essentially a short term tryout. I'm sad to see him go if he gets taken, but it's just not working out with the Red Wings.
Cossa isn’t tracking very well. I would not be surprised to see him bust completely
That nigga go clear.. nobody wants Ned😂
It is about time his goal average has dropped off bad I think it is time hopefully he gets claimed there more guys who should be placed on waviers Stevie Y is going to start cleaning house to make room for others to come up .
I don't know that one can seriously say the team "put so much stock" in Ned. We acquired him for Bernier's negotiating rights and a third rounder, and the dude definitely stole some games for us last year. But we really can't carry three goalies with us, so someone has to go — whether that means full time in GR or to another team with cap space who can take him, that remains to be seen.
Much like the Vrana waivers question, there are few teams who can actually take Ned's $3.5m cap hit, so even if he is claimed, there's going to be that question as well.
Stevie Y means business. Message to the rest of the team.
He should get claimed by LA hopefully. Gives him an opportunity to play as he goes into next year as a ufa.
With a $3M cap he’ll clear and a playoff team may take a flyer on him (with salary retained) at the deadline as insurance.
He’s bad though so I don’t care. Husso is our guy
No team would be willing to take on $3.0mil AAV for a GAA of 4.09 and SV% .880. Ned will be a UFA this summer and should be earning in the ballpark of $1.5 million AAV that Carolina originally offered as they thought his ceiling was being a backup. Then Detroit swoops in with a fabulous trade offer.
As for Detroit the experiment was worthy, tested, with no desired results.
He’s not NHL material. Possibly a back up. Maybe.
