I’m glad I got to meet him when he was playing for the Horse Lake Thunder with Theo Fleury in a senior men’s league back I think in like 2005 when I was a teenager. Nice guy and that was some of the funnest hockey I’ve ever watched!

Still one of my all time favourites. Canucks played him with Pavel Bure, suddenly Odjick is scoring goals and Bure is getting into fights. Gino even named his son Bure.
I hope his family is doing well in this difficult time.

Very sad to hear. He did beat the odds in a lot of ways though. He was terminal almost a decade ago and significantly outlived the prognosis. A true fighter. But still way too soon.

Random story: I went to a hockey tournament in his hometown(Maniwaki) when I was young and they posted on the walls the roster of every team in the tourney. Turns out there was 14 Odjick’s participating, he must have huge family
