New York Islanders prospect William Dufour made his NHL debut but the team only played one strong period and lost to the Boston Bruins 4-1. Mathew Barzal, Brock Nelson and Anders Lee combined for only three shots on goal in the game and the defense was sloppy. Semyon Varlamov looked rusty after missing time due to injuries and not playing much in the last month.
We also preview tonight’s road game against the Buffalo Sabres and have our unsung hero and goat of the game for the loss against the Bruins.

HI Gil. 1-4 home stand. Six total goals. Another half ass effort against a way superior b's team. Remember when isles handled b's in playoffs? Neither do i. B's were supposed to be the train wreck by now. Lou fooled everyone. Nothing more to say. And dufour -2 and benched will get the one way ticket back to ahl from lou now.
Lane Lambert can't coach.

It was a good 1st and 2nd period. No fire power is the same story over and over again. I know it's Boston, but they were in the game all night. PP is sad. PK is acceptable. No matter how many minor leaguers they promote, the outcome remains the same. Tonight a road game in Buffalo. I have a bad feeling about this.
Perhaps Barry KNEW he didn't have the horses to win with offense, so he implemented a defense first scheme. You can't "open it up" if you don't have any consistent, offensive players.
This is so frustrating. Why isn't the media all over Lou for never replacing JT's offense? It's going on 5 years and all he's done is trade away or give away offense while giving away draft picks to sign NHL refuse. WTF? JETTISON YODA!
Throw him on the first line against the #1 team in the NHL and wonder why he struggles. Lol Not exactly setting him up for success.
Hi Gil—-Are we really surprised? Are we? They gave us half a season—but that’s it. Sabres tonight? Does it matter. We win and we go on another 4/5 losing streak. I’ve said all I had to say this season. Lou? He’s an obnoxious, condescending and ol school has been. I dont blame Barzie for taking the $$$ I feel he loves playing on the Island—-but he could have done so much better. Couple guys over there still mean well but when you’re enjoying a smoothie and ya start slurping—-throw the crap in the garbage———-well that’s where we are at with this bunch. Ownership can do as they please—-don’t listen to the fans that pay you—-play the TDL all you want—-trade away the farm for more age—-just don’t care because our Gm’s always and mystically hypnotize every ownership we’ve ever had. 1 goal a game in essence—-Let’s get real-I feel we will have to live with the “Dynasty years” the rest of our lives”! We are not an attraction—-we are not a destination—-we are poorly run and we know the Island is a great place to live and raise a family but most players want to win—and won’t come here. Always enjoy the show Gil——I’m too old to keep doing this—-PS—-if you’re going to invest and own a team—-can ya maybe learn about the game—-it’s history—-the history of what you purchased and above all—-take the pulse of the fans——cause although ya ride the trains and are visible——you’re very rich and very stupid.
