DERICK BRASSARD TRADE (NICK BJUGSTAD TRADED) + RILEY SHEAHAN, JARED McCANN: PENGUINS PANTHERS TRADE



The Pittsburgh Penguins and Florida Panthers have made a trade that sends Derrick Brassard, Riley Sheahan, a 2nd round pick, and two 4th round picks in the 2019 draft to the Florida Panthers, in exchange for center Nick Bjugstad, and forward Jared McCann.

    The only reason they gave up that many picks is because of brassards contract being up after this year and retaining no cap while bjustad is under for another two and a half…a younger cheaper and bigger centre I’m ok with for sure. Not gonna miss those 4th round at all. And One we never kept around anyways the Minnesota pick (traded pick for Jamie Oleksiak and then got it back) overall great trade for both.

    I have to side with Florida on this one, Brassard was just meh on Pittsburgh and not a great fit at all, but Brassard has potential to rejuvenate himself with the Panthers!

    The Panthers are making cap space so they can take a serious run at Panarin and Bobrovski. I like what the Panthers are doing

    I'm actually hoping McCann does not succeed, 1 more less arguement the Benning haters can use against him

    The picks were sent to offset the expiring contracts of Brassard and Sheahan so if the Panthers couldnt resign them they wouldn’t have lost them for nothing

    in all honesty the pens won this trade big time cause they got someone who is younger,has a lot of potential,and better then Brassard in nick
    Bjugstad and they got rid of so many picks this draft cause its not a deep draft.Also getting jared Mcann wich has A LOT of potential . He's only 22 way younger.So i think the pens won this
    trade.
