How Damaging Will It Be To The Canucks Franchise If The Coaching Change Doesn't Work?| Tim & Friends

Tim discusses the Canucks firing Bruce Boudreau and hiring Rick Tocchet over a wild weekend, questioning why the Canucks kept on Boudreau on for as long as they did and looking at the current divide between the fans and management.

  1. the new Canucks management has almost finished destroying the canucks… jim rutherford is to old school NHL now.

  2. The title is wrong, it should be "How Damaging Will It Be To The Canucks Franchise GIVEN The Coaching Change Doesn't Work?| Tim & Friends"

  3. The canucks suck i cant believe this group has made them even worse .Sell the team and move it

  4. How obvious is it that the problem is the GM and his less tham stellar performance.
    Bruce is not the problem

  5. It'll be more disastrous if it works immediately, to be honest. The Canucks going on a random win stream and missing the playoffs while killing their odds at a good draft pick is the worst possible outcome

  6. Bruce is a nice guy, but the team lost while playing his system. Scoring a lot of goals is fun, but defence wins games. The fans liked Bruces colourful personality, but coaches get fired all the time. Would he have been as popular if his name was different ? "Joe there it is" wouldnt have the same ring to it. Bruce was finished as a NHL coach when he was fired 3 years ago, so he should be thankful he had a last hurrah. Im sure that he does very well teaching children at his hockey schools. Nobody should feel sorry for a guy getting paid $2 million for something he would do for free. Some owners can have a lot to do with how a team operates and performs, anyone whos not familiar with Harold Ballard and the Maple Leafs should google him. As far as Aquilini goes, hes willing to overpay second rate multimillionaire managers, hockey players and coaches but shortchanges migrant workers. Some people feel that as long as he is the owner, then the Canucks will remain at the bottom.

  7. Assuming THIS management team doesn't work out either, the next obvious move is to try and run the Owners out of town and try to convince them to sell. Hopefully, to someone with less "hands on'" experience. I.E. making bad decisions, including out and out BLOCKING good decisions, as was the case with Linden during his brief stint as Asst. Manager.
    Unfortunately, that's unlikely to happen.
Without divulging too much detail, Aquaman's other financial ventures have become er… less prominent, let's say.
Enough so that he is pretty much solely dependent on the revenue from his little NHL piggy bank in the form of the Canucks.
He is SO dependent on it now, you can expect all his decisions regarding operations to strictly be for his financial benefit.
The success of the club is inconsequential to him now, as it has become his financial life ring.
It's quite the pickle both he and the fans are in.
An operational stalemate if you will.
If you want to see a contender, or perhaps even cup champ, I suggest you search for greener pastures, as I have done.
Unless you're willing to wait possibly ANOTHER 50 years.

  8. I can see that the United States doesn't have a monopoly of completely inept management . This is about as close as I want Canada to mimicking the US of Pay !!🤔🇨🇦

  9. Nothing could be more damaging to the Canucks franchise than the Canucks themselves. As a former fan of Vancouver, they will never hold the Stanley Cup save to pass it over to the winner. Vancouver is the biggest joke in the league and the only one laughing are their opponents.

  10. It is such a shame that owner of Canucks would let GM and head man do what they did. Both GM and head guy added fourth line players in 22/23 season. Both keepers are AHL players, GM and head guy are a sole reason of Canucks downer. Club needs 6'4-225 D on Left side stay home to defend. Forget a kid running aroud Bruce is very good coach, but head dogs tore his name. Total shame. Bring Bruce as GM.

  11. The damage is already done. I'm pretty sure Canuck fans will be doing a lot of booing at the home games, if the fans even show up at all. I don't think it will matter even if the Canucks win home games. The owner and management are crap!

  12. Tocchet should be able to terrify Petey and the giraffe and AOC into being better.

  13. So far this management team has made 2 significant moves: they've botched this coaching change horribly and they signed JT Miller to another anchor contract that will drag them down for years to come.

  14. Id understand firing him for a better coach. But for a worse coach? 😂😂🤙

  15. Every time Sportsnet does a feature on the crappy Canucks organization, I'll not be tuning in.

  16. How is the coach the solution when the GM self-admitted he did not get the required deals done over the Summer. Then signing JT Miller to a ridiculous contract and this guy is a constant proven cancer for the team. Absolute clueless management. The management are the problem.

  17. Canucks have to change it up, start with that U2 song they play at the start of the game, there is too many traditions need to go out the window with the bathwater. There is a hypnotic feeling at the arena. The place needs a major reno. Forget the team, change the feeling and look of the arena. Fans are too laid back and sees the hockey as a leisure activity, like going to Stanley park. Vancouver fans are not hockey fans, its more of a fashion statement to go. When you go to the area, its like time warp into the 90's. Nothing changes with the Canucks.

  18. They should move the franchise out of Vancouver and bring in an expansion team. We've had 52 + years of mostly mediocre, to bad, to terrible hockey with a dozen or so years that were truly exciting. It's obvious that this team will never win the Cup here. I recall hearing a radio broadcaster, I think it was Jim Taylor, decrying the name "Canucks" when it was first announced, he was incredulous and was sure that they'd never get anywhere with such a horrendous name, he's been right so far.
Like I said, 52 + years of hoping and praying and then having out hearts broken time after time. I was a casual hockey fan until a friend introduced me to the New Westminster Bruins way back in 1975. My first Bruins game was also Stan Smyl's. I had seasons tickets for his whole junior career which included 4 straight league championships and 4 straight Memorial Cup Final appearances, losing the first 2 but winning the next two. After he aged out of junior and into the Canuck family, I started going to many more Canucks games. Eventually though, I gave up on them and realized that they only cared about making money and screw the loyal fan base if they complain. It seems that for some reason they just can't put it all together. They make tons of money and our city deserves a better outcome.

  19. It won't be damaging at all, in a few days, something else will be a news head line and no one will care about this anymore
