Buffalo Sabres Potential TRADE Targets? Chychrun, Kane, Klingberg, Provorov

In This video I discuss 4 big names that are being linked to the Buffalo Sabres as potential Trade Targets. Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Kane, Arizona Coyotes Jakob Chychrun, Anaheim Ducks John Klingberg, and Philadelphia flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov are all names that have been in NHL trade Rumors for some time now and with the Sabres putting themselves in good position at this point to push for a playoff spot they may look to upgrade their roster.
Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch, Victor Olofsson, Jeff Skinner, Dylan Cozens, Rasmus Dahlin, and company have really played stellar this year and can 1 or 2 key additions at maybe defense and Goaltending help them finally end their playoff drought.

  1. I would personally add just physical player or two at this point but not by dooming the future. This current team does not need scoring depth, just something to help keeping the puck away from own net. Kane probably wants to go for the cup(IF he even wants to leave) and Chychrun is way too overpriced. Klingberg does not add anything to the defensive side, actually making it even worse.

  2. no to Kane not trading assets for a 34yr old, Chychrun as long as we're not giving up any current asset. the other two D-men maybe kingberg. we are not trying to win a Stanley cup this year just keep building. they dont need to go crazy.

  3. Sabres are a soft team. They get bumped they want a penalty called. (Have to admit that they have been getting an inordinate number of soft penalties called recently. Many would have been called for a ‘dive’ at one time.) Not one of the present team would have made the cut in the ‘60’s-‘70’s. The player pool has been thinned out by too many expansion teams.

  4. Don’t fucking tough Klinger. Big fan of him but dropped of so hard last couple of years.

Provorov or Chych would make their top 4 d one of the best in the league in a few years.

  5. People continue to knock the Sabres goalies, but they experience far more high danger shots than most others do. Most goals go in when the Sabres players surround their own net, looking toward it, instead of outward. Teams know that they just have to keep a player hidden, and he will end up scoring. We need a solid defenseman.

  6. I'd like for buffalo to go after chychrun but he's too damn expensive. I'll be outraged if we trade for Kane. Go after him in free agency.

  7. Defensemen is my primary concern and that will help the goalies out more than getting another goalie

  8. I'm not interested in forwards, we have plenty w/ tons of skill and talent. Whereas, as you observed, our D needs work. When the season started, our #7's game was AHL-level; Jokiharju isn't small but definitely isn't big and doesn't even play his size, he might fill out in the next couple of years but we really need him to get bigger or much, much better, cuz he messes up a lot and is really a bottom pair guy or #7 himself

Our Top 3 will be elite within 1-2 seasons, Dahlin Samuelsson Power. If we add Chychrun in particular, we might instantly have the most elite Top 4 in the League, def among the best, let alone what our kids grow into and if Chychrun stays longer than his existing contract. Also puts Joker where he belongs, #6 w/ (If no Chychrun, then Boosh should be playing w/ Power so he has a Samuelsson since Power and Dahlin have similar games and Dahlin benefits from Samuelsson and vice-versa)

Klingberg and Provorov might be intriguing too; but really, I think we can fix our D w/ less expensive options….Schenn, Edmondson, Duclair, Borgen

All told we need more grit and calm lockdown veteran leadership from our blue line. Dahls Sammy OP are truly elite but the vibe we're missing is aged ruggedness w/ the size to impose will and with enough calm foresight to not get beat or blown up in high pressure. We need that to get into the playoffs, we'll need more of it to get through. So I'd like to spend about $3-4 million, maybe $5-6, between two guys for the blue line. Then I can consider a guy like Chychrun if I want to blast my blue line into the stratosphere as far as quality goes

  9. I enjoyed your video thanks for sharing. I'd prefer if the Sabres traded for a defensive defensemen with some grit and toughness, we have Lybushkin and was told oh we have a guy who lays the lumber now but I haven't really seen much of the hitting and he just let's the opposition come right into our zone. I want to become a team that nobody wants to play, not only able to score but have guys who don't put up with running into the goalie or smash our guys into the boards etc. just all around tougher on defense and the bottom 6 on offense.

  10. Yes I would love to have Kane but I don’t think it’s worth it to pay for half a year but in free agency if we want him go get him then

  11. Please don't waste your time with Kane he's too old and would not be good for the team's chemistry. The Sabres don't need an over-the-hill-forward screwing things up. The Sabres need a defensemen who can defend. They've already got one that can put up points but they need guys who can lockdown the opposition and take care of their own zone. Any of the three listed above would do but please stay away from Kane! The dude ain't worth the time or the money.

  12. I say out of everyone chychrun is the only good option, not a fan of klingberg I mean I get it he’s on arguably one of the worst teams in the NHL but a -24 in 36 games is bad, what we need is a stay at home defenseman or a 2 way defenseman to put with power, so that we lean more on him then we do power, while power is good he’s not the guy we can lean on he’s too young and you can see it in the mistakes he makes among other things like his decisions on when to pinch and when not to, leaving guys wide open going to the net etc, unless our defense turns it around, kane is definitely a player to pick up in the offseason our goalie situation rn I think is looking good UPL is unreal at times and Anderson is someone I think we can lean on to give UPL a break until next year when Levi comes to the team

  13. Ducks fans would LOVE to dump Klingberg at the deadline. Addition by subtraction! Any of these 4 guys would improve Buffalo but the GM is very keen to hold high draft picks and good prospects. Makes trading difficult. Kane when he is UFA is possible. Klingberg is also UFA end of the season.

  14. Don't get excited about winning immediately. Its better to build the team over a few years then sell out the future for the possibility of winning immediately. The teams that win have gone through years of playoff agony before they win the cup.

  15. Sabres got cap room I think we should go after Patrick Kane there and also he'll probably sign here in free agency according to his family friend people who are close to Patrick Kane family and Patrick Kane's parents my relatives have seen them this summer they're basically all summer Pat and his wife and his son good relationship with the pegula has

  16. Management is going to live or die with this lineup… next year you might see some free agent signing or trade with picks and prospects

  17. I would like the Sabers to pick up Luke Schenn. I think he would be a good partner to Powers and they could get him for a good price.
