Turn off GG’s keycard to MSG and leave his bags on the curb!

  2. rushy1911

The worst part is that Mika and Panarin played the last 6 minutes of regular time constantly. That whole time Mika and Panarin were exhausted because they were sent out on back to back shifts multiple times and got pinned every shift.

Instead of putting out the fresher players, the ones who actually scored, Gallant sent out Mika and Panarin again for OT.

like why bro, what is the logic

  3. Bread is so loose sometimes. Like too damn casual.

  4. sketchio

What’s Vinny going to look like in 5 years lol

  5. nyrangerfan1

Okay, well you keep screaming we suck on here and I’m sure that’ll have an impact on the ice. Say hi to the team for me.

  6. NY-Black-Dragon

Totally disgusting 3rd period. If there was a game where Gallant needed to rip them a new asshole, it’s this one.

Also, wtf was Zib doing on the OT goal?

  7. NDirish81

Gallant says he wants to prioritize winning over player development but refuses to recognize the situations when developing players gives you the best chance to win

  8. Key-Tip-7521

I missed the first two periods of the game cuz I had something to do. So someone, recap what happened for me plz? How was Cuylle?

Now, what I did see in the final period and the OT. Ugh disappointing. Bad defensive breakdowns from what I saw. The OT, where was Key on closing down Marner? Damn. Of course on tsn and LeafsNet are gonna say “Marner’s goal was the Greatest goal in Toronto history. Maybe ever. Because why? Toronto. We’re so great.” My rebuttal, “Oh yeah, enjoy losing in the first round… again. 1967 was when the Dinosaurs roamed the earth.” The irony with the Dinosaurs. The Raptors won a championship before the Leafs. Boom Roasted.

Back to what I saw. Poor defensively in the 3rd period. Team needed to possess the puck more and forcheck and spend some time in the Leafs zone besides the Yute line where they almost had “the shift (regular season edition)”. As for the OT, well, its 3 on 3. Whatever. Not gonna complain about it.

Hate it was on tnt. Talking more about Tocchet than the game. Very wait for it, >!fugazi. !< Whatever. The Rangers got the point. Which still matters in the season. Onto Vegas on Friday.

Line blender, kravy a great defensive forward benched, while liability Goodrow gets assignments vs Marner and Matthews, turtling with a late lead, and miller instead of Fox in OT.

    Time to say Goodbye Gg

  10. hockeytemper11

Need to play the players in their proper positions with a clearly defined role. Kravy needs to play with Bread and Z so he can reach his potential, and I only say Bread and Z because you can’t break up the Kid Line. No more promoting bottom 6ers to L1. Then actually give the team a few games without changing the lines so they can get comfortable. It’s not rocket science.

  11. Never_Forget_94

Panarin ain’t playing anywhere close to his salary this season.

  12. Tommybrady20

Filip chytil had the 8th highest time on ice among ranger forwards tonight btw

  13. Envelopen

Im usually defensive of some of gallants weirdness cause there’s usually rationale but that was a horrible quote to give “I wanted two but we’ll take the one and run” dude thats loser talk stop with that

  14. Top guys were just nonexistent. Kid line was the only line cycling, applying pressure and creating chances. PP continues to blow. Kreider had an awful game and was to blame for the leafs 2nd goal. He also did not bury that wide open chance- he needs to capitalize there. It’s a shame we could not close out that game and get 2 points on the road vs a very good team. I do not have high hopes if things remain this way

  15. Nickistheman22

Can we move Kreider down with Trocheck? Love the guy but his performance has gone down the shitter

  16. johnnydubsack

    Laf,Chytil and Kakko looked good.

Matthews and Tavares line outplayed Mika and Trocheck.

Didn’t like Trocheck signing when it happened because I wanted Chytil to get a shot at 2C.

Kreider had a bad game and got “demoted” for it.

I think I would try Panarin Mika Kravstov as a line.

    Kreider Trocheck Vesey

Keep Laf/Chytil/Kakko and get them couple more mins moving forward.

    Cuylle Goodrow Gauthier

  17. glacier_bay

The frustration is reaching a point of anger. This is yet another game that the Rangers should have won in regulation if not for the carelessness and lack of focus. Trouba’s failure to clear the front of the net, Harpur out of position, Kreider unfocused, team overall lack of grit and physicality, and the coaches do not escape blame here either — 26-16-21 have no business being a 2L. Tonight’s 2L should have been 13-72-24. Goodrow and Vesey should not be getting more ice time than Lafrenière, Chytil, or Kakko.

There are only so many games where we, the fans, can say “Oh well, on to the next game”. At some point, the Rangers have to start winning these kinds of tough battles. This was very much a winnable game. Rangers must do better.

  18. ItsHeadbangerG

Ugh. [This one pissed me off tonight.](https://tenor.com/view/ultimate-warrior-gif-9313112) Maybe because I feel it was easily winnable, but then the defensive breakdowns hit like clockwork and a scene I’m oh too familiar with plays out on the TV. Maybe because I think the Leafs are a clown show for how many years they’ve been laughed out of the playoffs. I know that last bit isn’t true at all. The Leafs have been a top tier team for years now, but I just don’t dread them the way I would the Lightning or this years Bruins.

Deep breath. Not the end of the world, and we walk away with a point. I still can’t fathom Mika standing there watching Marner like he did, it’s blowing my mind. I was looking forward to watching LFR off a Rangers win, but the joke is so exquisitely on me.

  19. Toronto double shifts their best players. GG goes with Goodrow and Trouba. Who would win?

  20. Bright side – we got a point and put us 2 full wins away for the pens and caps..

  21. Fedbackster

This is the game that tells you this team doesn’t have it. Literally no will to win. What a gift-wrapped two points for Toronto. Clearly tried to hang on to a one goal lead with little effort. They deserved to be blown out. Lazy, listless, lifeless.

  22. obvioussponge06

If I’m Drury right now, I’m thinking long and hard about who I’m picking with my 2 1st round picks.

  23. Wesley__Willis

I’ll say it as many times as I need to: no serious cup contender would ever willingly put Jimmy Vesey in their top 6. No disrespect to 26, it’s just objectively ridiculous to have a guy with his limited skill set up there. Same for Goodrow. Are their options really that meager, or is this actually their idea of a winning formula? Neither question inspires confidence in the current management.

  24. vogelsyn

Great game. Imma start betting on Chytil goals.

  25. PhillyJ739

I swear to god if I see one more post about shifting lines around I think my head is gonna explode. This revolving door bullshit is so obnoxious

  26. mbsmilford

Everyone done watching Marnier skate. Next time take the body instead of waving your stick at him as he skates on by.

  27. EarthWonderful

Unfortunately I had to bail just before OT but those last ~5 minutes in regulation comebacks always set the wrong mood. Hat tip to the kids and Igor, appreciate getting us at least a point. Rest of the gang, hope to see you Friday.

  28. Waverly_pl

This team should not be buyers at the deadline

  29. Living_a_Dejavu

This game is on Kreider. Forgot to back check on the game tying goal and obviously the Strome-like open goal miss.

  30. blueline7677

This team played a very competitive game on the road against the team with the second most points in the NHL and people are on here acting like we are Vancouver

  31. Envelopen

I just keep tellin myself if these are the losses i must endure to ensure the karmic shift that turns into a stanley cup so be it!

    ヽ(´ー`)ノ

  32. jerejeje

I’m not saying things are perfect in Rangersland but we are 15-4-3 in our last 22 games and are comfortably in a playoff spot. We’re good.

  33. Jmeyers08

These post games are always the same shit.

GG: “We played a great game I don’t think we sat back too much at all”

Trouba: “We need to do better.” (But will continue to do the same thing on every PP, and OT whilst missing opportunity after opportunity)

  34. Ankles45

Barclay Goodrow played over a minute more at 5v5 than Chytil. HOW LMAOOOO

  35. Forthefishes

why the kid line isn’t starting on the PP or OT is the reason we should move on from Gallant. you have more than 3 good players… use the variety.

  36. Ankles45

There is nothing young players on the Rangers can do to elevate their roles and become “the guys” that everyone complains that they should be. Even when they collectively drop their nuts on Matthews and Marner right in front of Gallant they get broken up and benched for the most important minutes of the game

  37. BarmyDevonian

I understand riding with vets in a playoff series. I just do not understand it in game 48/82. The regular season is the time to show some faith in the kids so they are ready if needed in the postseason…especially when they were the best line by far tonight.

Overall a couple of lapses against a good team ruined a good performance against a legit cup contender. The team’s in a good spot in the standings, but would be lying if GG’s decision making doesn’t frustrate me.

GG is not awarding ice time based on merit and that is eventually going to be a problem when you go up against better teams.

  38. legend1124

This team is going nowhere until they find a coach that will use the kids. It is beyond me how anyone can see how the kids played tonight and NOT play them in the last 5 minutes or OT.

Also real tired of how bad trocheck is in the defensive zone. Seems like any line he centers is stuck in their own zone the entire time they’re out there.

And our power play is still terrible. Just once maybe break out of the predictable mess that is PP1 and start PP2. Teams just expect it now and it’s inexcusable at this point.

  39. dcgirl98

Kids did great tonight. Maybe start them on the PP like Monday just to shake things up a bit.

  40. jkman61494

I’m sure glad we taught those kids a lesson by benching the only line to score goals tonight for the last 5+ minutes and OT.

You better stop scoring or we’ll bench you!

  41. SlowVariation8

I’d like to see us be confident and hold the puck in the last 5 minutes. Too much talent on Toronto to let them bring it. It seemed inevitable that they would score. Agree with everyone saying the kids deserved to be out there.

  42. It almost feels like he’s positioning the top line to play slow and defensive for what? Someone tell me if I’m wrong, I can’t figure out what he’s trying to do with the lines, the kids should be rolling every game

  43. Fire_Gorton

Kid line did well offensively but the other 3 lines were bad tonight. Kreider had a brutal game from the miss tap in to letting 2nd goal happen. He had a turnover when Rangers had pressure on Leafs in last few minutes. This is a good team that needs improvement and part of it comes from within. The other part at the deadline getting a scorer and a 3rd pair Dman who can kill penalties
