This is how an actual rebuild plays out. Late bloomers and unexpected guys stepping up is what makes the difference. We can have top 10 picks for years, but the plan almost never unfolds as expected as we’ve seen before with other rebuilding teams. Luck is a big part of success, and we might have struck gold for next to nothing. It’d be huge for future asset management if he can keep it up consistently.

Allen should be hired to stay with the org after he’s done playing. His love for the MTL market is pretty obvious. One of the guys with the most amount of respect for the CH that I’ve seen in my life as a fan of this team.

I just noticed he’s pulling a 3.14 aav with 0,910 save pourcentage… he needs to face at least 40 shots per game lol, crazy stats.

I love Allen. To everyone saying we should trade him, here’s why you don’t trade him. He’s paid 3.8M but that’s nothing for what he provides. He’s a capable starter and if eventually we have a young goalie that can handle more workload, Allen will happily take the backup role. It’s tough to find guys who are as selfless as he is. He’s 32, he could give us a good 3-4 years of services.

I’ve known Jake since he was a kid, just a good smart person. He understands his abilities and wants whats best for the team. 0 ego, just does his best everyday and puts in his work. Mtl would be lucky to keep him around after his career is over if that’s a role he is into.
