Nothing has changed yet. They need to ship players out and tank for bedard.
They need to extend Tocchet for a long term contract. Players need to trust that Tocchet is their coach, they need that stability and certainty that management won't swap out coaches once again for them to fully trust the process and buy in to Tocchet's systems.

Pretty obvious Tocchet wasn't brought in to win. Bruce himself said look at the schedule, it's not a coincidence they fired him right before all these games against bad teams. Rutherford brought Tocc in to ensure they stay in the Bedard race while they search for the actual coach they want.

I would be worried how many other players have added Vancouver to their no-trade list. Vancouver players want out, but how many other teams are willing to trade their players to Vancouver based on the organization. And how that organization traded Bruce. What happens if Tocchet doesn't work out. Does he get fired too.

Tocchet was a superb coach here in Pittsburgh and made a good power play great. But he's going to have to start from scratch with Vancouver's complete absence of a penalty kill. 66.7% means your opponent scores on every third penalty the Canucks take – pitiful. Johnny Canuck is sobbing over his pot pie. 😔😟😢ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I like the Canucks and very much want to see this team succeed.

This is not rocket science. First period goals allowed is nearly worst in league. This is a lazy team.

Nothing looks different. Without wanting to compare teams, coaches eras etc. When Bruce took over, from his first game the Canucks LOOKED different: defensively, offensively, the way they cleared the zone, the personnel on the PK etc.
Under Tocchet, they look exactly the same as under Bruce.
Basically same line combos, same PK members. Everything.
It's kinda confusing. But Tocchet knows he has a long leash because the idiotic management group moved heaven, Earth and Bruce to get him.
THe roster needs a revamp. Plain and simple. Nothing will change for the team until that is resolved.
To me: the judgment of this regime will begin from Game One next season. After they've had the trade deadline, the summer season to buyout, trade and restructure the roster. THEN we can see what's what. Until then — seriously … does it matter?
